Bridgestone Follows On/Off Operators with Durable Truck Tyre Range
Nokian Introduce Hakka Truck Steer
Bridgestone has unveiled its latest range of On/Off tyres, delivering outstanding performance, durability and mileage. The newly developed Bridgestone M-STEER 001, M-DRIVE 001 and M-
TRAILER 001 are built to combat all terrains, both on and off the
medium On/Off conditions such as those in construction and excavation works.
Harald Van Ooteghem, Senior
Manager Truck & Bus Tyres Category Management at
Bridgestone, said: “We are extremely proud
of the new Bridgestone
On/Off range. With their
excellent mileage and enhanced durability, they deliver the
performance you need when
you need it most.”
The new On/Off truck tyre range,
which carries both M+S and Alpine symbols, is
available as of April 2017 in sizes 315/80R22.5 for steer, 13R22.5 & 315/80R22.5 for drive and 385/65R22.5 for trailer axles. Size 295/80R22.5 for steer and drive axles are due to be added to the offering later in 2017.
Finnish tyre manufacturer Nokian has announced the forthcoming launch of the new Hakka Truck Steer tyre to complement the existing multi-use Hakka Truck Drive. With the new tyre Nokian
set out to create an optimised feature set for all-weather long and medium haul steering axle tyres. The result is a new kind of tyre
with good wear resistance, low rolling resistance, and grip on wet as well as snowy roads – all this while being pleasantly quiet. “Nokian Hakka Truck Steer is packed with innovations”, says Teppo Siltanen, Product Manager at Nokian Heavy Tyres. “One of them is a whole new type of sipe activator – we call them ‘Oka’ (Finnish for ‘Thorn’) because of their shape.” The efficient siping is one of the factors that give Nokian Hakka Steer its grip. “It is a new generation all-weather tread
design with 3PMSF approval”, Siltanen explains.
Another important feature is, of course, the mileage. Nokian Hakka Truck Steer is designed to last. “First of all, the wider tread and even wear pattern give you better mileage”, says Siltanen. “Also, we sat down to innovate ways to prevent stone trapping. We came up with a new kind of stepped rock
resistors on the groove walls, making the tyre carcass less susceptible to damage from stone drilling.”
According to Siltanen, the demand for non-compromising all-weather tyres has been growing in the past years. Nokian Hakka Truck Steer answers perfectly to this demand. “It offers good fuel economy and many, many trouble-free kilometres on European as well as Nordic roads”, he concludes. “It has a very well-balanced set of features, making Nokian Hakka Truck Steer good value for money.”
The Hakka Truck Steer will be available in 315/80R22.5 and 315/70R22.5 with effect from Q3/2017. This will be supplemented with 295/80R22.5 in Q4/2017 and 385/65R22.5 in Q1/2018.

New KMAX Low Platform Trailer Tyres from Goodyear
Goodyear has extended its range of high mileage KMAX tyres with the introduction of the new KMAX T trailer tyre. This new tyre is for 17.5” rims and will be available in five sizes to meet the demanding applications of low platform trailers.
The new tyres, available from May 2017, have been developed for both high mileage performance and all season mobility, and meet the 3 Peak- Mountain-Snow-Flake (3PMSF) snow tyre requirements.
The tread profile of the Goodyear KMAX T range provides optimal pressure distribution in the footprint for high mileage, even wear and low rolling resistance. High contact stresses typical with low platform trailers are distributed over a wide surface by the robust 4-rib tread design. Meanwhile, longitudinal sipes
in the tread blocks provide grip in wet and snowy conditions, whilst also giving good mileage. Grip and traction is enhanced by the grooves, which are designed along zig-zag lines to provide multiple gripping edges to the circumferential ribs as they go through the footprint. The cross-section of these grooves is designed to promote the ejection of stones.
For greater casing durability, the construction of the bead is engineered for the demanding applications of low platform trailers. The tread compound’s chemical formulation is also designed to withstand the high contact stresses, typical with low platform trailers, giving high mileage, robustness and high retreadability.
Magna Tyres Introduces New MA11 Tyre
Magna Tyres Group has announced the introduction of the new Magna MA11 Tyre for compact wheel loaders. This radial constructed tyre, with an E2 / L2 tread pattern is designed for construction applications (road, residential, commercial) and landscaping. It
is the latest addition to the Magna product range and is available in tyre sizes 365/70R18, 405/70R18, and 405/70R20.
Magna MA11 is designed and constructed based on the latest Magna Radial
Tyre Technology. The high- tech casing reduces heat building inside the tyre, which results in a lower
fuel consumption, higher efficiency, optimized operator comfort and a prolonged service life.
Additionally, the
tyre offers solid
puncture resistance
compared to less-durable cross-ply
tyres, leading to a low-cost price per hour, and which makes it the ideal solution for today’s popular compact loaders.
