PRODUCTS V-shape make top grip and traction properties possible in the snow and wet, without having a negative effect on the mileage performance. The sipe technology of the SmartTouring DL22 also provides good longitudinal and lateral grip as well as directional and lateral stability. Low rolling resistance on the SmartTouring DL22 makes efficient fuel consumption possible. Continental Adds Two Radial Tyre Sizes to Portfolio Continental has added two new radial tyre sizes to its ContiEarth portfolio Continental is introducing two additional EM-Master E4/L4 radial tyre sizes to the market. The EM- Master is part of the ContiEarth portfolio, which was developed specifically for the construction sector. The tyre is designed for articulated for rigid dump trucks (RDT). Thanks to its deep tread design, the tyre offers high resilience, cut resistance and self-cleaning properties. The DumperMaster rounds out the radial tyre product range. The tyre has an all-steel radial carcass, which ensures high load capacity with low EXPEL: Remove Liquid, Oil, Water and Contaminants from your Compressed Airline System dump trucks (ADT), loaders and dozers and is available in two versions, the EM-Master E3 and L3: both with a normal tread depth and wide spacing between the blocks. This makes it the best tyre on soft ground. In comparison to the E3/L3, the EM-Master E4/L4 is ideally suited for hard and stony ground thanks to a greater block size, less spacing between the blocks and a deeper tread depth. The RDT-Master is also part of the ContiEarth series and was developed heat build-up. This makes it ideally suited for transporting ore onto the conveyor belt or directly from mines to the surface on dump trucks. In addition, the tyre is well-suited for tunnel construction. Christian Luther, Product Line Manager at Continental Commercial Specialty Tires, said: “With this latest release, our range of radial tyres for use on wheel loaders and dump trucks, in particular for construction work and mining, is now complete.” EXPEL is REMA TIP TOP’s new and innovative solution to the effective removal of 99.9999% of liquid, oil, water and solid particulates down to one micron in your compressed airline system. The particulate filter device, which launches into the UK automotive aftermarket is claimed to be so effective that Rema Tip Top is able to demonstrate its quality and reliability using a simplistic test rig designed to simulate the EXPEL against alternate systems. The demonstration utilises a coloured liquid solution connected to the compressed airline fitted with EXPEL. In parallel, a separate airline is prepared and fitted with a traditional water trap. The watery solution is fed into the airline, which immediately accentuates the level of moisture that travels through the compressed airline over a period of time. With the experiment rig prepared, first utilising the EXPEL unit, the operator safely blasts the compressed air and the coloured solution through the airline with a conventional blow gun onto a white material. Impressively, a completely dry and unaffected area remains intact. In order to present a control to the company’s product test Rema Tip Top says it connected a conventional water trap in place of the EXPEL unit. The company then performed the following experiment on the same white material, to identify if the coloured solution would permeate through the water trap. Operation of the blow gun this time presented an entirely different result. The water trap does contain some of the liquid passing through, however it is clear to see that the white material is marked considerably in the coloured solution after only seconds of operation. Effectively, operators who are using compressed air in environments which require air tools and expensive workshop equipment are potentially causing damage through conventional airline systems on a daily basis without the intervention and installation of EXPEL. Bodyshops where spray painting requires completely dry airlines and workshops with expensive pneumatic workshop tools and equipment demand the protection and assurance which EXPEL provides. Rema Tip Top says it has found that one of the main reasons for replacement and restoration of air operated machinery is a consequence of the gradual build up and ingression of moisture and contaminants in machinery, which can cause the onset of rust, general deterioration in performance and present the inconvenience and financial loss of expensive downtime. The EXPEL unit is tested to ISO 12500 - part 3 & 4 standard and is easy to install and maintain. The unit fully dissembles for cleaning and there is no decrease in performance over the lifetime of a well maintained EXPEL filter. EXPEL comes with a 5- year manufacturer warranty and retails at £225 plus VAT. New SmartTouring DL22 Rounds off the Hankook Tyre Portfolio for Long- Distance Coaches With the introduction of the new SmartTouring DL22, Hankook now offers a complete portfolio of coach tyres for long-distance routes to its coach fleet customers. The company is responding to the continuing increase in long-distance coach travel by completing its range in the long- distance coach segment with these new tyres for the drive axle. The SmartTouring DL22 has a particularly low noise level and therefore offers high ride comfort. The special tyre tread design guarantees uniform tyre wear even during permanent use, and makes a high mileage and long service life possible. Like most drive axle tyres from Hankook, the new all-year tyre has the 3PMSF symbol and M+S marking. The 3D sipes arranged in a 22 Commercial Tyre Business
