CONTRACT WINS Bridgestone has announced the signing of a fleet partnership agreement with Greggs Biomarsh Turn to Vacu-Lug Tyre Management to Aid Compliance Biomarsh Environmental Ltd has joined forces with Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres with the commencement of a comprehensive tyre management contract, designed to provide nationwide support and aid compliance throughout the Biomarsh fleet. Both companies are highly committed to the environment. By opting for Vacu-Lug’s retread tyres, Biomarsh will be making savings on the amount of carbon their fleet uses, and therefore decreasing their own carbon footprint. All Vacu-Lug’s rubber waste is recycled by Murfitt’s Industries and used to make sports pitches and children’s playgrounds. Africa Mine Magna Tyres has announced that a leading mining contractor has begun mounting the company’s 27.00R49 MA04+ tyres. This contractor is located in Southern Africa, and is working in a platinum and coal application. The tyres are available in various compounds including; standard, cut- and heat resistant. The customer in question has equipped its dump trucks with the ultra-cut resistant compound for use in a platinum mine and the standard compound for use in a coal-application. Following the good performance of the tyres, both parties are now in consultation to expand the corporation and equip more machines with the company’s offerings. Magna MA04+ is designed and constructed based on the latest Magna Radial Tyre Technology. The high-tech casing reduces heat building inside the tyre which results in lower fuel consumption, higher efficiency, optimised operator comfort and a prolonged service life. Additionally, the tyre offers decent puncture resistance compared to less-durable cross- ply tyres, leading to a low cost price per hour. Magna MA04+ Bridgestone Secures Greggs Fleet Partnership Bridgestone has signed a fleet partnership with Greggs, who cited the Bridgestone Partner network, transparent reporting systems and breakdown response times as key reasons behind the decision. The agreement will see the bakery chain’s entire UK fleet of vehicles fitted on the company’s premium tyres until 2020, with new regional Bridgestone product being fitted to all of Greggs’ commercial vehicles, eventually leading to Bridgestone Bandag retreaded product for the tyres’ second stage of life.
