CV SHOW
April 25 - 27th NEC BIRMINGHAM
Bridgestone Celebrates CV Show Success
Routeway Offers a Quality TBR Fitment for All Applications
Bridgestone’s presence at the CV Show was seen as a success, after the company showcased its range of services to hundreds of businesses, whilst also concluding a fleet agreement during event itself. Regarding the products themselves, their newly developed M-STEER 001, M-DRIVE 001 and M-TRAILER 001 tyres were showcased, with both new and retreaded patterns generating interest. This newest line-up of On/Off tyres have the durability to perform in a wide variety of surface conditions from asphalt and gravel to sand and mud, while demonstrating resistance to cutting, chipping and other forms of accidental damage. The M-SERIES, which also delivers better mileage as well as enhanced traction and grip, was particularly significant at the NEC, as they played an instrumental role in the conclusion of a fleet agreement with Arla Foods. The 13,500-strong dair y farmer cooperative will continue to benefit from the range of tyres and Bridgestone’s Total Tyre Care offering, with a renewed deal now in place up until 2020. Bridgestone’s innovative Tirematics digital system and tailored package of support were also cited as factors in the extension, with call-out times being reduced by up to 30 per cent

Bridgestone also emphasised its Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) supplier status and its background as a pioneer of the IRTEC tyre training accreditation. FORS is a voluntar y accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators, while the IRTEC licence aims to regulate the industr y and provide a sense of ‘best practice’ with an approved standard that fleet technicians can aspire to achieve. Finally, the Bandag brand, part of the Bridgestone Group, was also officially revitalised to coincide with its 60th anniversar y. A new brand logo and the launch of a new global campaign entitled “Built for Better”, aims to position Bandag as an innovative, sustainable business solution for fleet customers of any size.
Bridgestone’s commercial sales director Greg Ward said: “The CV Show is always a hugely important event to Bridgestone and one that generates significant interest in the

selected wholesalers. One of the main attractions is the fact that tyres in the range are individually designed for each specific sector including Steer, Drive and Trailer in sizes from 215/75R17.5 up to 425/65R22.5.

For Steer applications the Routeway RW201 and RW203 patterns incorporate four special longitudinal tread grooves that guarantee impressive drive performance whilst transverse grooves that include inserted steel significantly strengthens heat dispersion levels and also increases anti-skid prevention on wet and slipper y roads. Other equally important features and benefits include a unique, flexible groove design to additionally enhance overall driving control, safety and comfort. Routeway also offer Drive applications in the same high
strong pulling and operational action.
The RW105 is a mixed pattern which has been specifically designed with a unique structure within the blocks to give strong traction and increased braking performance. Plus an extended block formation effectively increases wear resistance and prevents chipping and chunking whilst eliminating the retention of foreign materials in the tread. Finally, the RW603 Highway pattern includes a special tread design that presents a high level of free rolling applications and a stone-resistant groove with self-cleaning properties. In conclusion for the trailer sector, Routeway offer the all-new five rib RW219 pattern along with the RW631 traction pattern.
