product range, the Armorband technology is unique to Bandvulc’s products. This technology delivers protection around the sidewall of the tyre, whilst providing an extra safety barrier against curbing, and a coloured strip on one side provides early warning in the event that the barrier is becoming damaged.

Bridgestone and its Bandag brand have introduced BASys across Europe. BASys is a platform that tracks and manages casings for retreading, integrating a range of functionalities from collecting casings from the fleet, through to delivery of the retreaded tyre. These features allow fleets to help their
apps. The first app the BASys Casing Collection App records data of the casings collected from the fleets or tyre dealers. Secondly, the BASys Manufacturing App allows the Bandag franchise dealer to follow the casings through each retread production stage, allowing optimised management of production quality

carried by The Tugmaster. This compound incorporates high levels
of natural rubbers that is intended to offer excellent tear and puncture resistance. The Tugmaster was designed for the specific application of yard and dock shunters, and with both Armorband technology and the high polymer rubber compound it tries to offer a solution to offset the stop/start/curbing demands of yard shunters.
The tyre is currently available in 295/80R22.5 and is being widely utilised by Bandvulc Plus+ retail shunter vehicles, as well as being an original equipment option.

clients use their casings more efficiently and reduce their overall tyre costs.
The BASys system was developed by Bridgestone to enhance integration between the Bandag retread solution and the overall Total Tyre Care fleet offering. It should facilitate Bridgestone and Bandag fleet customers to reduce tyre purchase costs with less effort and maximum transparency.
Steven De Bock the Truck & Bus director of the Commercial Business Unit of Bridgestone Europe says; “BASys gives our fleet customers full online visibility on how their casing assets are managed. This allows them to take better decisions on tyre and retread policy, a key element of Bridgestone’s Total Tyre Care programme.”
The platform integrates the casing management process with a series of
and cost efficiency. Thirdly, the BASys Back Office App gives fleet customers full visibility with actionable reporting on parameters like casing acceptance rates (with pictures of rejected casings), average number of repairs needed and number of life cycles of their casings. All of this empowers fleet customers by giving them the ability to make better decisions on the use of their casings, thus helping to optimise costs over the whole tyre life cycle. BASys is characterised by a user- friendly touch screen interface and barcode scanning that maximises user efficiency. Currently, the Apps are available for Windows 10 and Google Android (5.0 and above) mobile operating systems. These apps are managed by the Microsoft Azure Cloud computing platform. Additionally, the system uses local languages of all European countries.
Bandvulc, who innovate specialist tyre products such as the Wastermaster concept tyre, have now added a new tyre to its portfolio in the form of The Tugmaster, an all- positions yard tyre featuring
Armorband technology to protect against sidewall damage and a high polymer rubber compound to provide higher resistance to punctures.
