BNP Paribas Rental Solutions Renew Contract with Vacu-Lug
This makes this operation stand out in comparison with the historically mould cure dominated UK retreading market.

Grantham-based retreading company, Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres, has renewed its contract with BNP Paribas Rental Solutions, which first began in February 2012.
BNP Paribas Rental Solutions, part of French banking group BNP Paribas, is a commercial vehicle specialist with over 30 years’ experience and 15,000 vehicles under management across the UK and France. They supply contract hire under a tailored solution, with all vehicles and trailers maintained by an independent network of workshops throughout the UK and Ireland.
BNP Paribas Rental Solutions first embarked on a relationship with Vacu- Lug in early 2012, having been impressed with the depth of service and product range on offer.
Within their Vacu-Lug fleet management contract, BNP Paribas Rental Solutions’ drive tyres are fitted with Vacu-Lug’s own in-house brands - Duramold and Logistik.
Despite tough market conditions, after reviewing the marketplace, BNP Paribas Rental Solutions have reaffirmed their relationship with Vacu- Lug, delighted with the commitment to fleet management solutions that Vacu-Lug offers.
At the heart of Vacu-Lug’s service is its comprehensive fleet management system – VMS - a powerful fleet management tool which provides an operator with detailed tyre, financial and service information relating to
their vehicle fleets.
In essence, VMS allows an operator to analyse fleet data live (in summary or in detail), to see accurate vehicle costings and inspection data identifying any missed vehicles, to produce regular management reports, to view costs by location (benchmarking a fleet’s performance) and ultimately, to manage their fleet more efficiently.
When looking for a competitive supplier that met their service criteria and offered a partnership approach, BNP Paribas Rental Solutions decided to opt for Vacu-Lug once again.
Nick Blakeley, Head of Contract Hire Operations at BNP Paribas Rental Solutions, says of the renewal: “Simplistically put, the support that we get from Vacu-Lug on a day-to-day, week-by-week basis is very good. Their pricing is also competitive.”
Vacu-Lug is delighted to be continuing to look after BNP Paribas Rental Solutions tyre management requirements, with Fleet Sales Director, Dave Alsop, commenting:
“We are constantly committed to ensuring that we deliver efficient and competitive fleet management solutions to our customers. After some stiff competition, we are delighted that BNP Paribas Rental Solutions have once again put their confidence in us to deliver – a responsibility we will never take lightly.”

R & J Strang Wins New
Fleet Contracts Supported
by CAM’s Dynamic Data Feed
R & J Strang Services is growing its fleet business contracts as a result of data coming back from the field via integrated digital tablet feeds introduced by CAM as part of the tyre service provider’s investment in the UniSerV platform.
As UniSerV is a Microsoft SQL based platform, every transaction that is completed in the system as a result of integrating the data provided by the mobile fitters in the digital tablets feeds a vast dynamic data repository which is being constantly updated.
This data creates options to report across an array of areas to help R&J Strang’s both maintain and win business contracts, including operational performance (response and completion statistics), tyre performance (durability, rate of tread degradation), and the value (including likely replacement
profiles) of tyres on fleet vehicles. Lynn Wilson, director at R & J Strang Services Limited, says, “Being able to deliver reporting to fleet customers which makes clear the value that our business is delivering to them is a must for modern fleet service operations. CAM’s UniSerV platform gives us the basis on which we can do so and augments our position as a premium service provider in Scotland.”
Mike Allen, managing director of CAM, adds, “Modern business intelligence systems should align with the tyre service provider’s business model to deliver positive, tangible results for both the dealer and the fleet customer. More and more providers are recognising that data delivered via tablet feeds is the way forward to demonstrate how this can be achieved.”
Bridgestone’s Retread Facilities Score a Maxi-mum
Maxi Haulage has agreed a fleet deal with Bridgestone on the strength of its retreading facilities in Lincolnshire, with the company’s Total Tyre Care philosophy resonating during discussions.
The agreement coincides with the 10 year anniversary of the acquisition of Bridgestone’s retread factor y (Bulldog) in Bourne, which boasts an output of roughly 50:50 mould cure to pre-cure.
