  Containerlift Look to Vacu-Lug
Containerlift, the international container handling specialists have selected Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres to provide a comprehensive tyre and support service package for their UK and European Sidelifter sales and rental operation.
Based in Dunmow, Essex, Containerlift is the only container handling company in the UK who provides a nationwide end-to-end
specialist major assignments including the London Olympics. From its Grantham manufacturing base, Vacu-Lug is providing a combination of Premium 385 65 and 315/70 Duramold retreads and Westlake tyres for approximately 33 trucks and 19 tandem axle trailers on a dedicated PPK (pence per kilometre) contract. Support is provided by Vacu-Lug’s
      pick up and placement service. Using bespoke-designed Steelbro Sidelifter trailers, each equipped with twin, 18 tonne capacity cranes, the company works with
a cross section of businesses - from longer term contracts such as recycling or waste disposal, to
online VMS (vehicle management system) programme, which ensures close monitoring of tyre wear and maintenance requirement. Meanwhile, nationwide operational service and backup is supplied by ATS Euromaster.

Under the agreement, BTC are managing a fleet of over 300 pieces of equipment using Hankook and Bandvulc products. It includes 24/7 breakdown coverage with added value benefits which Robin Davies, Managing Director of Birds Logistics comments on; “The Bandvulc offer was competitive and
performance which provided us with the confidence to adopt Bandvulc as our supplier.”
Phil West, Commercial Director for Bandvulc adds; “Birds’ requirements were specialist, especially with the fleet operating in mainland Europe and we had to prepare for this scenario. Our coverage is extensive and we’re delighted to have Birds join our prestigious portfolio.”
   Bridgestone with Breakthrough Bus Partnership
Bridgestone has made one of its most significant breakthroughs into the City of London, after expanding its bus fleet contract with one of the capital’s biggest public transport providers. The company has been chosen to maintain 500 extra Metroline vehicles, which operate predominantly in the north west of the city, from 5 different locations. The deal represents an extension of
an existing two year arrangement with Metroline which already involves a full maintenance package with 1,200 buses across London. Metroline’s head of purchasing Derrick Halsey said that the integrity of the manufacturer’s products, coupled with a holistic tyre management programme were key reasons for awarding the contract to Bridgestone.

Watson Fuels Focuses on Safe Deliveries with Vacu-Lug
Brinkworth, Chippenham-based Watson Fuels has opted for a Vacu- Lug tyre fleet management contract to ensure the on-going reliability and safe operation of its UK fuel distribution fleet. The agreement covers all aspects of tyre husbandry from replacements and damage repair through to regular inspections and emergency call-outs nationwide. To achieve maximum economy in operation, the contract policy specifies a mix of new tyres as replacements
on steer-axles with Vacu-Lug retreads to be fitted to all other axles. "With safety in operation being the highest priority for
every business in the fuel distribution sector, we are delighted that Watson Fuels has placed its faith in our products and service," comments Vacu-Lug Fleet Sales Director, Dave Alsop.” The Watson Fuels fleet comprises 260 rigids, ranging from 7.5- to 32-tonners, and 40 articulated tractor units and trailers, all of which are now covered by the company's tyre management agreement with Vacu- Lug.
