Magna MA03 Tyres Perform in Oman´s Rough Terrain
braking on dry and wet surfaces, and smooth and high-precision handling. Chris Smith, Michelin’s Marketing Director North Europe – Truck & Bus, says: “These results prove that Michelin X Line Energy tyres are the obvious choice for fleet operators where the bulk of the work is on trunk roads at sustained high average speeds.”
Smith added, “If a typical UK haulier fitting this profile changed its policy
from a regional fitment to Michelin X Line Energy tyres, they could easily save up to three per cent in fuel, which in some cases could even wipe out their entire tyre bill.”
Michelin X Line Energy tyres enable a 30 per cent increase in mileage performance for the steer axle on 315/60 R 22.5 and 17 per cent for the 295/60 R 22.5 Michelin X Line Energy Z, compared to the previous Michelin XZA2 Energy range.
A renowned oil field transportation company specialised in land rig movements is testing Magna 385/95R24 MA03 tyres through
desserts and rough terrain in Oman. The tyres have been mounted on a heavy Mack Winch truck and have been performing well in Oman´s
rough operating conditions. Following analysis of the final performance report, which is expected to confirm the impressive performance of the product, it is likely that the customer will shift their entire fleet onto Magna´s tyres.
The Magna MA03 tyre is designed for use on highway and off-road applications. The product features an aggressive, self-cleaning tread design that provides improved traction in severe off- road applications and has a long-lasting, non- directional tread design that enhances efficient fuel consumption and guarantees operating comfort.
One Millionth Delivery Note for ATHOS Truck Tyres Issued
Germany based Hämmerling - The Tyre Company, has celebrated the one millionth delivery note for ATHOS truck tyres. The recipient of the delivery was a dealer in Scandinavia. "Just under a decade after an ATHOS tyre first left our warehouse in Paderborn," says Olaf Hoppe, Managing Director of Hämmerling Group Holding, "we are now one of the most important and Europe-wide valued brands in the truck tyre segment."
The idea of developing a truck tyre of its own and to name it ATHOS originated at the end of the nineties. Based on the extensive know-how in the trade, but also in the production
light trucks, construction vehicles or buses. Customers include more than 3000 dealers across Europe, as well as original equipment manufacturers such as trailer manufacturers like Krone, Fliegl, Kögel, Ackermann and Wielton.
The success of the market, says the company, is mainly due to the long- term experience of the company, but above all the good basic conditions of the ATHOS truck tyre. Building on a good purchase price, it is possible to achieve mileage of more than 200,000 km with reduced fuel consumption. The basis for this is again a special rubber mixture, a sophisticated profile arrangement, a
Official Tests Show Fuel Efficiency of Michelin X Line Energy
Michelin X Line Energy tyres are claimed to be the best for long distance fuel efficiency, following tests that revealed a truck and trailer running on the fuel-saving tyres will save an average 1.4 litres per 100 km. That equates to an annual saving of up to £1,670 and a reduction of 5 tonnes of CO2 emissions based on a vehicle covering 130,000 km per year – compared to the average of its five main competitors in the long-haul
market, achieved by the superior rolling resistance of the tyres. Michelin X Line Energy tyres went up against those manufactured by direct competitors on a 200 km journey at an average speed of 80km/h on real roads, organised by the DEKRA Test Centre.
Michelin’s latest generation fuel saving tyres came out on top, and the tests also highlighted their casing quality, levels of reliability, efficient
Hämmerling - The Tyre Company recently completed the one millionth delivery for ATHOS Truck Tyres
of truck tyres, today's CEO of the company, Ralf Hämmerling, intensively began to deal with the construction of the company’s own truck tyre production. The reason for this was also the fact that, at this time, a permanent procurement and supply bottleneck, especially in the area of trailer tyres, was in place, and good contacts with various trailer manufacturers existed.
The first delivery of an ATHOS tyre took place in 2007, and in 2009 new sizes and dimensions were added. Today the range of ATHOS commercial vehicle tyres consists of a complete range of sizes and profiles. These can be used for the front axle and rear axle as well as for trailers,
specially developed substructure as well as the reduced dead weight, which was reduced from 73.4 kg to 69.3 kg, that is, by 4.1 kg. All ATHOS truck tyres also have a retreadable carcass and thus a "second life".
In addition to the price / kilometre ratio and the tyre’s longevity, the ATHOS range also features optics, development and responsibility according to European standards and German quality assurance. Added to this is availability from Germany with fast logistics in Europe and the ATHOS service network, which can be used simultaneously in 24 European countries.
