CV SHOW
April 25 - 27th NEC BIRMINGHAM
New Tyres Launched at the CV Show
This year’s CV Show took place at the NEC from 25-27 April, an as usual, the show was attended by the majority of the leading tyre manufacturers as well as a number of key tyre wholesalers.
The tyre highlight of the show as far as the press is concerned has to be Apollo’s launch of its new range of truck and bus tyres and the innovative, exclusively online approach the
company intends to use to bring its products to market. However, many other manufacturers were introducing new products at the show. Bridgestone, for example introduced a new range of on/off road tyres, Continental previewed its ContiPressureCheck YardReader
station, and the new ContiConnect portal, Giti were introducing a total of six new tyres, and Michelin launched its new X-Multi tyre range.
There were plenty of other innovations too. Here is our review of the latest tyre products on show at the NEC.

On the subject of the management change, Gregg told Commercial Tyre Business, “The move means I take on the MD role with a commercial aspect and this allows Patrick to concentrate on a more technical role and to coordinate with research and development, which is where his heart truly lies.” Additionally, Gregg gave us an update on the
integration progress of Bandvulc within the Continental. In total, there are eleven integration projects, of which three have already been completed. The rest, said Gregg, are going to plan and will be completed in due course. “Once these projects are completed we will see more and more synergies between the 2 businesses as we move forward into the future,” he added.
Finally, Gregg also had good news to impart regarding market demand for the company’s
retreads. Bandvulc a UK truck tyre retreader for more than 40 years, is still seeing strong demand for retreading, especially with the recent increase in raw materials prices. “With the potential for Chinese price increases, we are anticipating growth, and we are prepared to react quickly to increased or decreased demand,” he said.
