Programme
As part of its European truck and bus rebrand project, Giti Tire has announced that its UK retread programme has been renamed Giti Genesis. Originally known as GT
REE-Tread, the next-generation products remain a high-quality, hot cure bead-to-bead retread which are only manufactured using Giti casings in partnership with a leading UK- based operation.
Giti Genesis is available in two patterns: the GDR690 regional drive axle tyre is available in 295/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 315/80R22.5; the GTR990 regional trailer tyre is offered in size 385/65R22.5.
Tony McHugh, TBR Sales and
Marketing Director UK at Giti Tire, said: “Since we launched our first retread tyre in 2012 we have proven that the programme delivers tangible benefits to operators who want the lowest price-per-kilometre without sacrificing reliability and safety. By utilising our casings’ proven integrity and retreadability, both patterns offer excellent traction, optimal mileage performance and resistance to damage and impacts which has put them very much in demand.
“Giti Genesis tyres are being prepared for market with our exceptional new partner, they remain an integral element of our full-service offering and we very much look forward to their full debut at the CV Show 2017 alongside our new Giti portfolio.”
TyrePal Exhibits TPMS Range at the CV Show
TyrePal will exhibit its TeleTPMS remote monitoring system at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham this year on stand 4K50, following its launch at the trade fair last year. The company will build on last year and raise awareness of the importance of tyre pressure monitoring in the automotive industry.
Visitors to the TyrePal stand will be given a demonstration of the company's remote tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), the TeleTPMS. The system is designed for fleet managers, who can receive an e-mail or SMS notification when any of their vehicles' tyres are overinflated, underinflated or overheating.
Additionally, they will demonstrate how integrating TPMS data into telematics systems provides additional safety measures for drivers, leading to fewer accidents and breakdowns.
As an advocate of TyrePal's products, European trailer manufacturer, SDC Trailers will be delivering a demonstration of the system in action. SDC will connect TyrePal's TPMS to the trailer that will be present on the company's stand throughout the show.
“TyrePal wants to continue the conversation on the importance of early warnings for tyre pressure abnormalities. Tyre
This exchange of information increases driver safety and improves fuel efficiency. The system tries to eliminate the risk of tyre blowouts or fires, as the driver can take action before the problem occurs.
TyrePal will also exhibit its in- cab monitor and CANbus module. The CANbus module offers manufacturers a way to integrate TPMS into the on- board driver display of specialist vehicles such as buses, commercial vehicles and emergency services vehicles.
problems are the biggest single cause of break-down for commercial vehicles. Overall, tyres are responsible for an estimated 20% of all truck breakdowns,” explains Business Development Manager at TyrePal, Peter Tillotson. “The CV Show is the perfect opportunity to showcase how important tyre pressure monitoring is to fleet managers, but also how easy it can be to integrate into existing systems.”
