eBay Solution from CAM Streamlines Tyre Retailers
Sales opportunities through eBay are realising business growth for tyre retailers. Thus, CAM is introducing a cloud-based solution that will enable dealers to streamline the associated administration, eradicate errors and save time and labour for their eBay order processing.
CAM’s solution integrates Cameo and its Online Tyre Catalogue (OTC) alongside a tailored eBay shop interface, which further strengthens the features list in the forthcoming major Cameo release. CAM achieved the eBay integration within eight weeks of receiving its first signed order and is about to play a pivotal sales management role for participating dealer customers.
Post-order from the consumer, the system operator is presented with a list of all completed eBay transactions that are awaiting despatch. The user can review and confirm the details of each sale before being guided through a sales process of courier and delivery service level selection, and then onto generating the finished invoice.
There is virtually no manual data entry during the process, since all product and customer data is pulled from the eBay website, passed directly to into selected courier’s systems, and then into the finished customer invoice. Accuracy is improved and invoice processing time is reduced.
The eBay integration also includes a ‘pick list’ feature allowing operators to generate a picking list of all items that have been sold awaiting despatch. This allows warehouse staff to retrieve stock from the facility far more efficiently.
Mike Allen, managing director of CAM, says, “Processing high volumes of transactions generated by eBay can be laborious and time consuming, and mistakes can be made due to the high level of human intervention during transactions with considerable keying in of data, often from handwritten notes. Cameo’s Derived Pricing capability delivers reliable accurate pricing directly to the sales desk, enabling retailers to quote confidently and professionally.”
The restructuring of Kings Road Tyres’ (KRT) wholesale operation has taken a major step towards completion with the opening of a central Superhub on a logistics park in Burton-on-Trent. The operation is at the heart of a restructured business model for KRT that will improve stockholding and logistical efficiencies and take advantage of the benefits available with the modern buildings, infrastructure and IT systems.
The company is now operating out of a 92,000 sq ft office and warehouse complex on a five-acre site known as Centrum One Hundred. The Superhub includes a two-storey office accommodation, canteen facilities, dedicated staff and visitor parking, seven dock-level access doors, five ground-level access doors, a power floated concrete floor
slab and a large, barrier-controlled service yard.
As the central point of UK stockholding for all brands and product categories, Burton-on-Trent will provide direct service to customers in the midlands, as well as overnight deliveries to new satellite KRT warehouses in London, Taunton and Stockton-on-Tees. Scotland will be covered by an improved overnight service by third party distribution, with Ireland also being serviced from Burton.
KRT managing director, Adrian Bader said; “With Burton-on-Trent now established as our central logistics centre, we are equipped to radically improve the efficiency of our business. That will be good news for our customers as we seek to build on our long-established and hard-won reputation for quality service.”

The Tyre Equipment Company Returns to LAMMA
This January, The Tyre Equipment Company is returning to the LAMMA farm machinery and equipment show in Peterborough to showcase its range of workshop tools and equipment.
As a long-established online supplier of workshop tools to a cross section of transport sectors, the company offers a ‘no minimum order’, free packaging and delivery service throughout the UK for its products. The Tyre Equipment Company
works with equipment manufacturers, such as Gaither Tools and PCL, to stock an extensive range, including Jacks and Lifting Equipment, Tyre Puncture Repair Materials, Tyre Safety Cages and Tyre Bead Breakers.
Speaking of the return to LAMMA this year, Phillip May, General Manager, comments:
“Last year’s LAMMA show was the first time we had exhibited at the show, and we had a fantastic time
showcasing our agricultural range of products, designed to
provide a more economical and practical solution to tyre equipment related issues.”
Visitors to the stand 498a can look forward to a discount on all items
displayed and can also take part in a daily
competition to win one of three off-road tyre
repair kits. The show takes place on the 18th and 19th of
Trelleborg is making its customers heroes with the company’s latest initiative, telling stories of successful project implementation from the point of view of the users. The new Heroes programme collects experiences from professional farmers to highlight their issues and how Trelleborg has played a role in solving them.
The series which also can be found in Trelleborg’s aTtraction magazine app launches with the story of Guillaume Agneessens, co-owner of Agri Minon, an agricultural contracting company in Belgium. Agri Minon offers a full service, specialising in sowing, harvesting, spraying, monitoring culture, fragmented records and the PAC statement.
Mr Agneessens says: ‘We invested in
Trelleborg’s tyres to stand out from the competition, and we’ve been impressed with their performance so far. At the beginning of the season, when we were spreading fertilizer on very damp grass, the TM1060 left no footprint whatsoever. The traction capacity and wear resistance is also very much improved compared to traditional tyres.”
Thanks to Trelleborg’s ProgressiveTraction technology, the TM1060 range promises to improve farming efficiency with its double lug. The ProgressiveTraction tread boosts grip while the strong base of the lug significantly reduces vibrations. Operating on the soil at different times, the double lug progressively releases higher traction when required.
