Alcoa Wheels Commemorates 20 Years of Innovation at Köfém with further Investment
Alcoa Wheels marked two decades of innovation and expansion in Hungary with the announcement of a new USD 18 million/HUF 4,9 billion investment in its Köfém Wheels facility in Székesfehérvár. Over the past ten years, Alcoa has invested more than USD 70 million/HUF 19 billion in Köfém to expand its European portfolio of forged aluminium wheels for the commercial transportation market.
A ceremony marking the occasion was attended by the Deputy Minister
said city Mayor Andras Cser- Palkovics.
The Köfém Wheels facility opened in 1996 with 32 employees; once new production is at
full capacity, it will employ nearly 500. Production is expected to begin in early 2017.
The investment will add two new production lines at Köfém to better serve growing European demand for wheels that are stronger, lighter and require less maintenance than steel. The first of these two lines, opened
during the IAA show in Hanover, is a highly flexible, polishing line able to produce Alcoa’s patented LvL ONE and Dura-Bright EVO products. Tim Myers, Group President of Alcoa’s Transportation and Construction Solutions business,

decades of innovation, production and partnership in Székesfehérvár, we are proud to say that Alcoa Wheels made in Hungary are today found on every road and highway across Europe.”

Speedline Truck Extends Trailer Range
Speedline Truck has extended its range of wheels for trailers, which the company claims is currently the largest range of wheels for trailers with a load of 5,000 kg. The newest model is the SLT 3774, wheel size 22.5x11.75" (ET
45). With the SLT 3598 wheel (19.5x14.00", ET 120) for megatrailer applications, Speedline Truck provides a unique solution in the market.
In addition, Speedline Truck has introduced an extended range of accessories for forged light alloy wheels comprising shank nuts, nut covers, valves and valve extensions. Each Speedline Truck product is equipped with a special signature valve specifically developed for aluminum alloy wheels for commercial vehicles with additional corrosion protection and low torque for lower loads.
All Speedline Truck forged wheels feature a 5-year warranty from the date of manufacture with no mileage limit.
