CAM International in Drive to Expand e-jobsheet Coverage

and Fleet Business
CAM already has nearly 900 tyre fitters using its digital tablet- technology in the UK and is on its way to achieving its initial goal of having 1,000+ e-jobsheet tablets in operation. In addition, the company is on the verge of launching a mid- range, cloud-based stock and billing management platform which is integrated with e-jobsheet that will cater to the requirements of tyre dealers with between six and twenty fitters, a gap in the market, which has, until now, not been serviced by the company. This was revealed by CAM International director Steve Daly recently during an exclusive interview with Commercial Tyre Business held in Cheltenham.
CAM has been investing in the e- jobsheet platform for three years now, and according to Daly, the company is getting close to the point where it can begin to think about marketing its cloud-based systems on a European and ultimately global basis.
“The position we have managed to achieve with stand-alone users of e- jobsheet in conjunction with our UniSerV user group has put us into an interesting position,” said Daly.
“We see strong opportunities for growth through Spain, Germany, France, Scandinavia etc., which we aim to achieve with local partners. We are also looking at possibilities in Asia with interest. However, in the first instance, it is important
that we reach a “base camp” of at least 1,000 fitters in the local UK market place. Our current priority is to get the UniSerV users fully converted, and we are moving at pace on this.”
According to Daly, there are currently a total of 22 UniSerV companies at various stages of implementation. However, the company expects eight to ten UniSerV customers to be live with e- jobsheet by the end of the year with the rest being updated by the end of Q1 2017.
As things stand, the bulk of e- jobsheet users fall into two categories – the UniServ user group members, who are all larger independents with well in excess of twenty fitters each, and stand-alone users, who tend to be smaller independents with fewer than ten fitters. These latter companies use the Standalone e-jobsheet package, which is an entry level system, and generates a .pdf image of the jobcard for every job carried out.
As the standalone version of e- jobsheet has been in operation for over a year now, CAM has established that one of the challenges is that the system may become too demanding for dealers with more than seven or eight fitters, as it generates paperwork quickly. This has created a gap in the market for a system designed for outlets with between six and twenty fitters, which provides a way of getting the job data directly into a central system to update stock records and create service invoices. Says Daly, “We believe there are
about forty accounts in the UK alone, which don’t have the same sophisticated requirements of the UniSerV base, but which are nevertheless creating a lot of jobs on a daily basis. We are now homing in on completing development for a solution which addresses this gap in the market for a mid-tier integrated solution, and we shall be launching it in the near future.”
At the other end of the equation CAM International has also been working hard to persuade some of the larger fleet management networks to come on board with e- jobsheet. According to Daly, four of the largest providers, ITDN, Tyrenet, TBS and InFleet are all signed up to the system but have not yet finalised their integration to the platform, though two “are close”.
Recently Tyrenet also announced that it had secured an agreement with TOM Vehicle Rental in Airdrie for the complete nationwide management of its fleet using e- jobsheet as part of its solution.
Says Daly: “We are working hard to further develop the options e- jobsheet can offer to a wider cross- section of the commercial/fleet tyre service market. We don’t want our industry to view e-jobsheet as “just an app” – it’s a complete and agile work management platform which brings visibility and control to tablet-led service work such as inspections and recommendations, breakdowns and scheduled work, particularly where the work is being carried out by third parties.”
