GT Radial Urban City-Bus Tyre Achieves 3PMSF Certification
The GT Radial GAU861 all-position urban city-bus tyre has achieved three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) certification, confirming its all-season performance credentials. The tyre, which
was
maximum resistance to curbing and impact damage, while 20.2mm deep grooves and a unique tread pattern ensure good mileage performance combined with reduced noise for greater passenger comfort.
Tony McHugh, TBR Sales and Marketing Director UK at Giti Tire,
said: “While the tyre was already recognised for its all-season
capabilities, which have been proven across the continent, it
is important to gain the correct independent accreditations and certifications that are requested by many city-bus operators. “With the GT Radial brand we
are continuing to develop a strong mid-market product portfolio and fleet services to
meet all passenger transport requirements, and this will continue to evolve to meet
market demands.”
GT Radial’s coach and bus
portfolio also includes the GSR225 Combi Road, which is
available in 19.5” and 22.5” sizes, is M+S marked and has seen a recent increase in load index capacity to enable use on modern Euro VI certified vehicles.
In addition the 17.5” GAR820 regional all-position pattern and GDR619, GDR638 drive alternatives, along with the 22.5” GDL617, GDR621 and GT629 drive axle tyres, have all achieved 3PMSF certification and are M&S marked.
Hankook Expands OE Range with Additional Truck Sizes
Hankook Tire has announced that it is to further expands its original equipment (OE) portfolio in the heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) and medium duty segment as part of its existing OE agreements for Mercedes-Benz Trucks: Actros, Antos, Arocs, Econic and Atego. The updated tyre selection includes the e-cube MAX AL10+ and DL10+ as well as the SmartFlex AH31 and DH31, the company’s highly reputed flagship products for the European market. Hankook will additionally provide multiple options for 22.5 inch tyres.
The e-cube MAX AL10+ (all position long haul) utilises linear grooves with waved walls to prevent uneven wear, enhancing durability and providing improved long-term fuel efficiency. The improved tread
compound and high load index of the AL10+ increases fuel efficiency while simultaneously increasing load capacity. The e-cube MAX DL10+ (drive axle long haul) offers drivers excellent traction with its three-dimensional kerfs as well as superior long mileage performance with extra-wide tread blocks and deep grooves. The block supporter also provides the DL10+ with boosted longevity and low rolling resistance. Both of these tread patterns will be supplied in three sizes 315/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 315/60R22.5.
The hybrid line SmartFlex AH31 is an all-season TBR tyre well-suited for variable road conditions, providing even wear and long mileage performance with significantly lower rolling resistance.
The revolutionary drive axle tyre SmartFlex DH31 is perfectly matched for a number of different applications with its cutting-edge technology providing excellent traction in a number of different operating conditions including regional, long-haul and winter
conditions due to the 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snowflake) whilst guaranteeing high mileage durability. The SmartFlex AH31 and SmartFlex DH31 will be available in three sizes, the 315/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 295/80R22.5 for the new Actros.
Interstate Tires Expands Sierra TBR Line in Europe
Interstate recently expanded their Sierra TBR line with two new tread patterns. The TBR programme now contains over 60 sizes in 9 different patterns, all with EU label and REACH compliant.
According to the company’s Vice President, Theo de Vries, the Sierra TBR line has been well received in the European market. In most countries the brand has build a solid distribution and received positive feedbacks about quality, mileage and retreadability.
The Sierra SR526 is the latest addition to the product range, being na ON/OFF, All Terrain tyre with the M+S marking. Available in the two popular sizes 13R22.5 and 315/80R22.5, the SR526 offers good traction and flotation on varied terrains such as sand, snow and mud. The open shoulder and cut- resistant compound contains new self-cleaning elements and incorporates stone ejectors. The full- width steel belts and tri-polymer casing offers great durability and mileage.
Interstate’s second new tyre is the improved SR805 trailer tyre, available in sizes: 385/65R22.5, 385/55R22.5, 425/65R22.5 and 445/65R22.5. The 385/65R22.5 has now also received Smartway fuel
efficiency approval from the USA EPA and carries the M+S symbol. The new improved casing technology is extremely resilient and offers great mileage and even wear during the complete life cycle of the tyre.
