WHEEL SERVICE EQUIPMENT
CV Wheel Servicing Equipment from Hofmann Megaplan
The Monster AGTT from Corghi
Hofmann Megaplan is a major supplier of wheel service equipment and offers the following tyre changing and balancing equipment for the commercial vehicle sector.
Megamount 352
The ideal machine for owner/operators and truck tyre specialists alike, this model boasts all the operative features of its bigger brothers, but carries a price tag that makes it affordable for
those
customers
looking
to
handle their own fleet. A rim clamping capability up to 27” and a 1600mm O.D. (63”) make the megamount 352 extremely versatile, whilst the 2 speed hydraulic chuck makes fast work of any job. Available in 1ph or 3ph.
Megamount 752
The megamount 752 is a heavy duty tyre changer for
truck and plant
applications.
Boasting a rim
diameter capability of 14” to 56”, O.D of 2300mm (90.5”), and rim width up to
1065mm (42”), this model is a great ‘all-rounder’ for anything from buses to heavy plant machinery. Again, a 2 speed chuck and portable control unit complete the luxury specification. Available in 1ph or 3ph.
Megamount 852
The king of truck tyre changers, the megamount 852 is an extremely heavy duty unit for
handling the widest variety
of CV and plant rims, from buses to
earthmover.
Rims from 14” to 56”
with O.D. up to 2400mm (98”) and
width up to 1300mm (53”) are
handled with ease. Industrial strength gearbox and clamping
chuck mean the megamount 852 can work in the harshest conditions, such as mining facilities and military field operations. Available in 3ph only.
Junior Truck
An affordable, heavy duty truck wheel balancer with integral, pneumatic lifting device.
The Monster AG TT is Corgi’s top-of-the-range automatic tyre changer for heavy duty applications such as the fitting and removal of truck and bus tyres. It is the only such machine in the world to fit the “Leva la Leva” device and significantly reduces strain and risks for specialised professionals in changing all types of tyres on trucks, buses, farming and earthmoving equipment. Equipped with automatic and self- centring wheel clamping device (without using extensions), the Monster AG TT offers an electronic system to save the diameters of the rims and the position of the wheel and the “Side To Side” device that enables the tools to move automatically from one side of the tyre to the other.
The whole tool block is operated hydraulically. It comprises the “Leva la Leva”device, which performs tyre changing in a completely automated manner and a special bead loosening disc which, based on the hydraulic movement, reaches the perfect inclination in each phase of the process. A fundamental feature of the system is that the arm
that operates the tool block makes a coordinated movement with
the turntable
and always
keeps the
wheel and the
tools perfectly
positioned in all situations.
This reduces tension and
avoids contact, consequently totally safeguarding the integrity of the rims and tyres.
The Monster AG TT is designed and manufactured to guarantee maximum versatility and efficiency for the operator. The single position of the tool block on the carriage makes tyre changing jobs easier and quicker. The new play recovery pads eliminate play due to wear; the memory function used to save the position of the tools speeds-up positioning during tyre changing. The synchronised movement
between tool chuck and carriage, the electrohydraulic control unit with display, which can be adjusted at will by the user, and the possibility to automatically position the finger and the disc ata a tangent with the rim, make the Monster AG TT unique.
Not only is the Monster AG TT designed to reduce strain, it has also been designed to guarantee maximum operator integrity and safety. The design of the tyre changer is devised to eliminate the need for a base, which consequently eliminates any unbalanced situations, which are dangerous
when loading large and heavy wheels. This solution allows the operator to work in complete safety
with the wheel raised off the ground by just a few centimetres. What’s more, the new controller allows the operator to command all movements without touching the tool block.
The universality of the Monster
AG TT is guaranteed
by the new
self-
centring locking turntable made up of tilting jaws
with 9 direct lockable positions, from 14” to 48” and with tilt up to 58”. The system is pre-arranged to lock rims with minimum centre hole diameter of 90 mm . The turntable is equipped with a drive inverter that automatically enables the output of the optimal speed for each job, including tyre groove forming.
Corghi equipment is distributed in England, Scotland and Wales by Rema Tip Top Automotive UK Ltd and in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic by Apaseal Ireland Ltd.
