roll compensation, means that workshops are now able to obtain a full wheel alignment diagnosis in just four minutes.
With such a rapid diagnosis, the system is expected to be used extensively by fleets in their ongoing efforts to maximise fuel efficiency and reduce tyre wear.
“Fuel costs remain the number one priority for most operators and correct wheel alignment is an important factor in helping improve fuel consumption,” explains Brett Hickey, commercial vehicle specialist, Pro-Align. “While many already appreciate the need for properly aligned wheels, current measurement systems often take in excess of 30 minutes or more to obtain the results, meaning that vehicles don’t get checked as
regularly as they should. By slashing measurement times, the new Hunter system is much more efficient and usable and therefore offers the potential for substantial cost savings in both fuel and tyres.
“Independent tests carried out between two major global tyre and truck manufacturers found that use of the Hunter commercial vehicle alignment system could save fleets as much as two and a half percent just by correcting their alignment. This is a staggering amount and surely an opportunity that no fleets can choose to ignore” concludes Hickey.
The new Hunter commercial vehicle alignment system can be used on trucks, trailers, buses and coaches.
Checkpoint, the inventors and manufacturers of the wheel nut indicator, introduced two new products at the CV Show.
The “Squirrel” is a user-friendly, one-piece wheel nut fixing ring
working in a wide range of temperatures and is resistant to oil, detergents and other chemicals. The second and newest product is the “Trucklock”, a new anti-theft locking nut and key. One nut per
     TyrePal Launches TeleTPMS
TyrePal announced the launch of of TeleTPMS at the CV Show, a new remote tyre pressure monitoring system for CV fleets. The new fleet management tool uses GPRS, GPS, telematics and Cloud technology to transmit
monitor tyre pressures whilst the vehicle is stationary, eliminating manual pressure checks prior to loading. The system will also alert to unauthorised movement or tyre tamper. Where trailers are regularly moved between trucks,
and store vehicle tyre pressures, temperatures and location data. Sensors on each tyre transmit the data every twelve seconds to a smart TeleTPMS module housed on the vehicle. The module processes the data and location information snd transmits it via the GPRS network to a remote database. The data can be either directly accessed via web application by the fleet management office or by a telematics provider to integrate with additional fleet management services.
TyrePal TeleTPMS continues to
TyrePal TeleTPMS automatically recognises the correct trailer. Continuous monitoring of fleet tyres will ensure correct pressure maintenance leading to reduced fuel consumption, reduced risk of breakdowns, reduced tyre wear and significantly reduce the risk of blowouts and fire. The TyrePal TeleTPMS system warns fleet managers immediately if a problem is detected allowing swift action to prevent permanent tyre damage.
John Pye of TyrePal introduces the new TyrePal TeleTPMS system
suitable for both front and back wheels. It is easy to fit and can be installed in a matter of minutes, providing flexibility, extra safety and support. The Squirrel has been designed as a one-piece unit that will not get clogged with road dirt and grime. It’s durable, reusable nature means that it is capable of
wheel helps to deter and prevent wheel and tyre theft. Each key has its own unique encryption, and keys can be encrypted individually or alike, depending on fleet requirements. The Trucklock fits almost all commercial vehicles and is suitable for both steel and alloy wheels.
New Hunter CV Aligner Offers Rapid Fuel Saving Opportunity
A brand new wheel alignment system for commercial vehicles is now available in the UK and is set to help fleets reduce their running and maintenance costs significantly. The Hunter system, available exclusively through Pro-Align, is the first and only CV alignment system
on the market today which is capable of providing live alignment readings on three axles simultaneously, and was the subject of live demonstrations on the company’s stand at the CV Show. This capability, along with other revolutionary features such as single
