Michelin Appoints New Head of Truck and Bus Marketing
New Roles for Bandvulc’s Support Team
Michelin has announced the appointment of Chris Smith, 31, as Head of Truck and Bus Marketing with responsibility for the UK and

New Business Development Role for Bandvulc
David Wilson has stepped down from his role as Director of the UK’s Retread Manufacturers Association, a role he has filled since January 2005. He will now be taking the opportunity to focus on the management of his publishing interests including Retreading Business, Tyre & Rubber Recycling and Commercial Tyre Business.
Alan Bithell, who joined the RMA as co-director last summer, will continue as Director of the Association, whilst the administration of the Association will now be in the hands of Christine Joyce, who also runs the administrative function for the UK’s Tyre Recovery Association, the British
Tyre Manufacturers Association, Tyresafe and BRPPA.
During the recent Annual General Meeting of the RMA, Chairman Patrick O’Connell thanked Wilson for his services over the past decade and wished him success in the future. During the same meeting it was announced that O’Connell would continued in his role of Chairman of the Association and Tim Hercock was re-elected Treasurer. The other Board members, Dan Collins (Truck Tyre Specialists), David Gray (Bulldog Remoulds), Mike Carter (Marangoni), John Campbell (Vellco) and Jack Crangle (Kingpin) were all re-elected.
Corby Goodall, the longest serving member within Bandvulc’s sales team, has moved into a Business Development role, following a staff review within the company. His position will allow him to focus on identifying areas of business expansion, as well as the growth of new opportunities.
Following 35 years of experience of working for Bandvulc, Corby commented by saying, “it’s a role which, post the reviews, became clear I wanted and feel suited toward. I look forward to developing new possibilities and looking for new
opportunities which fit our business model. It is a key role for the business overall and I’m delighted to have been considered.”

Hankook Tyre UK appoints Brett Emerson as Sales Director
Brett Emerson has been appointed as the new Sales Director of Hankook Tyre UK to oversee all business developments within both the UK commercial and car markets, illustrating the company’s ambitious growth plans.
Emerson joined the company in the beginning of July this year, following 26 years of experience, of which he has 11 years experience at director level, within the tyre industry at both Bridgestone and Toyo.
Tony Lee, the Managing Director at Hankook Tyre UK commented on the appointment of Brett Emerson by saying, “We are delighted to welcome Brett to Hankook as we continue to demonstrate ambitious
growth plans here in the UK. Brett’s extensive industry experience, professionalism and highly motivated work ethic shall without doubt make him a major asset to the team.”
