Three New Kraiburg Tread Designs
New Mobile Truck Tyre Balancer from Rema Tip Top
Retread materials manufacturer Kraiburg has announced the launch three self-developed precure treads: K 700 / KDL 1, K 800 / KLT 1 and K 801.
305 and 320 mm: available as K 800 in the K_base range and as KLT 1 in the K_plus range. The design is the optimum companion for local and long-distance traffic on trailer, semi- trailer and tag axles. In the version with the K_plus premium compound it ensures excellent rolling performance potential. Its tread structure promotes balanced road pressure distribution and an even wear pattern. Wide grooves are specially designed to allow both good self-cleaning action
and optimum surface water discharge. Wings
ensure high stability and resistance to lateral shearing forces.
The third
new Kraiburg
design is the
K 801, which
the company K801
has designed
for the K_tech range. This pattern also has wings, which ensure high resistance to lateral shearing forces. Designed with roughened surfaces, the wings prevent tread and carcass from separating. The new K 801 pattern is claimed to be kind on the csing due to a low tread movement and a cooling running tread compound. This longitudinal design is intended for trailers, semi-trailers and tag axles and achieves high performance in local and long distance traffic. The K 801 is available in 295, 305 and 320 mm.
During the Reifen 2014 exhibition in Germany, Rema Tip Top presented a new mobile truck tyre balancer, the Probalance 7930 Paguro. This innovative balancing machine for truck and bus wheels is not equipped with a classic housing but is instead mounted on a truck fitting unit for balancing.
The advantages of the manually-operated unit are that it saves on space and weighs
considerably less than a conventional balancer, thus making it perfectly suited for mobile tyre service. The Probalance 7930 Paguro is equipped with a
portable digital display, a hand- spin/motorised spin-up balance measurement system and a keyboard for entering wheel data.
The unit is operated by means of rechargeable batteries.
K700
The new block pattern K 700 in
the K_base range, which
is also available
with a special K_plus
premium compound
as KDL 1, positions itself
as a long distance runner
in long distance
traffic. The high rolling performance is guaranteed by
the large tread contact surface that the design offers despite low tread depth. Kraiburg have designed the
K800
compound so that it runs very cool. The
K 700 / KDL 1 is suitable for
truck drive axles and has
proven itself as an all-weather pattern with very good winter
properties. The new block
pattern is available with
closed shoulders in widths 250 and 260 mm.
Kraiburg has also launched a new trailer design for the widths 287, 295,
Bandag Promote Protread Line
Protread by Bandag, launched at the end of last year, is a second- line range of pre-cured treads
designed by Bridgestone Europe aimed at price-sensitive fleet customers. Designed for use exclusively by Bandag dealers, the new range provides an opportunity for Bandag franchisees to cover the whole of the market including both premium and economy segments. Based on existing Firestone tread patterns, Protread is designed for use on Firestone casings.
Protread is available in 10 different designs including 5 patterns for long and medium haul applications, three for on/off road use and one each for urban and winter use.
Speedline Release New Wheel for Trailer Sector
Speedline Truck has begun to expand its product range in the field of applications for heavy load trailers. Speedline Truck is a brand of wheels for trucks of the Swiss Ronal Group, and is currently among the largest producers of forged light alloy wheels for commercial vehicles, trailers and coaches.
The new 3187 SLT Speedline Truck wheel in the 22,5 x 13” format enhances the wheel programme with a capacity of 5,800kg and is designed purposely for fleets with very high load bearing rates. The wheel, which weighs just under 28kg, has a weight reduction of at least 20kg compared to similar steel wheels, whilst simultaneously having a payload capacity which exceeds 750kg. Additionally, when compared to
the aluminium wheels, it has an greater load bearing capacity of 250kg. The wheel is intended for the fitment of tyres of size 425/65 R22,5 and also 445/65 R22,5 , which is currently a unique configuration in the market.
The use of the wheel, in the case of an articulated lorry, allows a weight
reduction of at least 80kg and an extra payload reserve of up to 3,000kg, when analysed against similar combinations of steel wheels.
Furthermore, the SLT 3187 wheel is a good choice for improving efficiency and optimising the fleet for heavy and difficult transport. It is available in the diamond surface regarded for its high quality and with the special Speedline Truck valve with additional corrosion protection and reduced torque for lesser loads.
The wheel is TÜV tested and ABE registered for the German aftermarket and is available with 26 and 32mm holes. The products are available from a number of trailer manufacturers and selected aftermarket partners.
