Run at French Rock Quarry
Suppliers of Primary Materials Shine at Pirelli Supplier Awards
After 1,000 working hours, the Magna M-Terrain still had 88% of the tread depth remaining
Magna M-Terrain tyres have been delivering good results at a rock quarry in France, says the Holland based OTR tyre supplier. According to Magna, he customer started testing with one of Magna´s M- Terrain tyres on their Liebherr 586- wheel loader. After approximately,
1,000 working hours, 88% of the tread depth remains intact, which Magna says will lead to a lower cost price per hour.
The Magna M- Terrain is designed for challenging off- road conditions and is characterised by enhanced sidewall
protection and flotation due to the wide shoulder design. The tread compound provides decent resistance against cutting and abrasion, with the E4 tread pattern improving traction and performance.
In a ceremony which took place at Pirelli’s headquarters in Milan, Pirelli Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera, as well as the Group’s Head of Purchasing Pier Luigi de Cancellis, presented the Group’s annual supplier awards recently. The recipients of the awards, as well as primary materials suppliers, included producers of machinery and moulds, cyber security experts, logistics firms, and event management companies. The winners came from three continents – Europe, Asia and America – and six countries (China, Italy, Germany, Japan, Romania, the United States, and Thailand).
The following companies won the 2017 Supplier Awards: Jiangsu Xingda Steel Tyre Cord Co Ltd (China), Zeon Corporation, Thai Eastern Innovation,
Karl Eugen Fischer GmbH, Himile Mechanical Science and Technology, Com Divers Logistic Srl (Romania), and finally Newtonlab.

Dayton Expands Truck Tyre Range
Dayton is launching two new products in the value truck tyre segment: medium-sized Dayton D550S steer tyre and D650D drive tyre for light and medium trucks. The Dayton brand, made in Europe by Bridgestone, aims to give cost- oriented fleet operators essential performance at the best possible price.
Steven De Bock, Director OE & Rep Sales Operations Commercial, Bridgestone Europe says: “These two new products give Dayton wider coverage in the value segment of the European truck tyre market where price is king. Backed by Bridgestone, Dayton is successfully carving out a distinct position based on reliability and performance.”

truck segment, popular with the regional distribution, vehicle rental, household relocation and construction industries.

D550S steer is a robust tyre that combines good resistance against irregular wear with reliable handling in wet and dry. Stone ejectors in the tread add extra value, helping to keep the casing in good condition for retreading.
The D650D drive tyre provides good traction and braking response, while the tie-bar tread design helps to minimize heel and toe wear.
