From the exclusive location of the world-famous Taj Palace Hotel, over 50 European Westlake partners recently enjoyed an experience of the very best hospitality India could offer. Sightseeing trips to Delhi’s historic monuments (both modern and ancient) were combined with evening gala dinners. Echoing to the beat of drums and traditional music, over 100 artists performed in a combination of dance and spectacular feats of acrobatics and martial arts, including a special performance by the Bir Khalsa Group the holders of the Guinness World Record for Gatka. As a unique surprise, Zenises also organised the winners of ‘India’s Got Talent’ to participate with a special performance for the Westlake Partners.
The highlight of the trip was a visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra – one of the wonders of the modern world. Back at the Taj Palace, partners heard of developments in the Westlake
passenger and truck tyre programmes. Following on from a brand-new truck tyre range designed for European roads and vehicle capabilities, Mr Nick Zhou (Westlake International Sales Director) discussed forthcoming Westlake truck and bus tyre developments with the group.
The Zenises team was also pleased to hear about a renewed passenger tyre range to incorporate new UHP designs, new run flat tyres and a commitment to develop a wide range of tyres to cover commuter and mid-range cars which require a broad line of 13 to 16 inch tyres. On behalf of Zenises, European General Manager, Mr. Jorge Crespo commented: “Each year we grow our Westlake partnerships – not only through engaging in these social events – but also by continuing to develop the very best truck and passenger tyre ranges for the needs of our European business”.
Pirelli Agree Sponsorship of IIHF Ice Hockey
World Championship
After sponsoring the FIS Alpine Skiing World Championships, Pirelli is showing its interest in another winter sport, namely ice hockey. The Italian tyre firm was an official sponsor of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, which took place in Cologne and Paris from 5-21 May. Pirelli’s sponsorship of the Ice Hockey World Championship will also be renewed over the next four years, up to 2021.
The Ice Hockey World Championship joins Pirelli’s winter sports sponsorship portfolio in Italy
and Switzerland, key markets for Pirelli winter tyres. In 2017, Pirelli remains a partner of FISI (the Italian winter sports federation) and the company logo will accompany the athletes during the forthcoming world championship season.
Pirelli is also backing Swiss-Ski (the Swiss skiing federation) for the seventh consecutive year. Pirelli’s commitment alongside FIS, through Infront Sports and Media, will continue for the championships to be held in Are, Sweden (in 2019) and Cortina, Italy (in 2021).
