Tructyre Looking to the Future with Goodyear
Having enjoyed 21 years in partnership with Goodyear, Tructyre have grown from a two- van operation to having 125 vans covering the South of the UK. Since their establishment in 1996, the company has grown to be one of the biggest privately owned commercial service providers. Key to Tructyre’s growth has been their 21-year partnership with Goodyear.
Pat O’Grady, General Manager at Tructyre, explains their humble beginnings. “In 1996 our Managing Director, Glenn Sherwood, decided to start his own business as a commercial service provider. Having worked for Goodyear previously, Glenn knew they would be a supportive partner in the growth of the business. 21 years on and we now have 125 vans, and cover one of the biggest service areas in the network.”
Throughout their partnership Tructyre has been part of the extensive TruckForce network, aiding their growth with access to Goodyear’s national fleet customers, receiving call-outs from the Actionline breakdown service and being a member of Goodyear’s dealer council. Pat explains how this support has
helped Tructyre to grow; “The work we have received as part of the service network has enabled us to prove our skills, from this we have been selected and assigned service provider for specific national fleet customer sites.”
Alongside the service network Tructyre also have access to Goodyear’s brand of tyres. “We supply and fit Goodyear KMAX and FUELMAX tyres to national fleet customers, as well as selling to our local customers. By selling and fitting these tyres our customers have recognised the quality and they then return to us to buy them again and again.” Commenting on the relationship Marc Preedy, Commercial Director Goodyear UK&I, said, “Tructyre are one of our key partners within the service network and we regularly welcome Pat and Glenn to our dealer council meetings. Their input is invaluable and has helped us to shape and evolve our service network to where it is today. The continued support and sales they provide to us and our national fleet customers has made them a very trusted partner.”
instantly comply with the health and safety requirements of many clients, simplifying the procurement process for potential customers. As ATS Euromaster operates a fleet of more than 820 mobile service vans, SafeContractor provides peace of mind to customers that a technician attending their site is fully compliant with the highest levels of health and safety.
The company secured the renewal after passing a rigorous vetting processes, which looks at accident records, health and safety procedures and risk assessments, as well as demanding a demonstration of continuous improvement. Paul Millward, Health, Safety, Environment and Technical Training Manager at ATS Euromaster, says:
SafeContractor assesses the health and safety arrangements, policies and qualifications of contractors. All companies earning accreditation are included on a database, which is accessible to more than 300 businesses, meaning they can vet potential contractors before they set foot on site.
The renewal means ATS Euromaster continues to have the most extensive health and safety accreditation in the sector. In addition to SafeContractor, the company has also held the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Award since 2014 and has been an accredited member of the Contractors Health and Safety Scheme (CHAS) since 2010.
Replacement of TPMS Service Kits is Mandatory
Parts must be replaced
with each tyre change, particularly those that
are subject to
influences of ageing
and corrosion. If a sensor-based tyre
pressure monitoring
system is installed in a
wheel, replacement of
the relevant parts is a mandatory requirement of
the manufacturer and is not optional. The reason for this is the weight of the TPM sensor, which applies pressure on the
rubber seal of the valve and causes premature wear. Tyre dealers who fail to replace the rubber seals, union nuts,
valve inserts, and sealing caps might be
held liable for defects.
