Michelin Unveiled as Exclusive Retread Supplier to DTM

Central Tyre are set to provide a unique solution for commercial fleets operating in the UK market, following an agreement with Goodyear Dunlop to purchase Fulda branded tyres on an exclusive supply basis for a second year. The agreement is an important part of the wider strategic partnership between Goodyear Dunlop and the ETEL group, with the partnership spanning across several sectors of the UK market. Following the unexpected political events of 2016 the UK market has been operating prudently within the turbulence. Fleet customers are making smarter choices demanding loyalty, good products and a reliable service. In bringing together two major players within the UK Commercial market, both parties believe the partnership reaches out to provide a compelling choice for customers.
Hajime Mori, Director at Central Tyre, advised why a partnership between these two companies is so important to the UK market: “We are at a crucial time within the UK market where the customer’s trust in companies, brands and products is of highest importance. No-one can be certain what the future
looks like, so we need to focus on what is vital for the market to survive, and that is the customer. At Central Tyre we pride ourselves on our level of customer service. We carefully evaluate our customer’s needs so that we can recommend the right tyre for them, and we know that that is also Fulda’s philosophy.”
Fulda offers four key selling points including: German engineering, saving money, trusted by retailers and shorter braking distances. Fulda keeps the customer at the forefront of product design and development. This is evident with the recent Ecocontrol 2+ steer tyre and Ecoforce 2+ drive tyre, both designed as all season tyres while providing more mileage for the customer.
Marc Preedy, Commercial Director at Goodyear Dunlop commented on the partnership with Central Tyre: “Both sides have benefited greatly from this relationship. Central Tyre has enjoyed the exclusivity of its own brand for the last two years, and we have enjoyed being part of the journey, growing with both Central Tyre and the ETEL group as a whole.”
Michelin Tyre has been contracted as exclusive retread supplier to Direct Tyre Management (DTM). The four-year deal will see Michelin supply about 20,000 Encore-brand truck tyres a year from its factory in Stoke-on-Trent.
