Michelin Solutions Go-Ahead with EFFITIRES extension
UK Transport company Go-Ahead has renewed its 20-year relationship with Michelin, after agreeing a three- year contract for the continued support of Michelin solutions’ EFFITIRES tyre management programme.
The price-per-mile deal will cover 100 per cent of Go-Ahead’s bus fleet – 4,800 vehicles – operating from more than 50 nationwide depots, with the EFFITIRES contract offering a combination of outsourced tyre procurement and management solutions.
Founded in 1987, Go-Ahead has grown to become one of the country’s largest passenger transport groups. The company is London’s biggest bus operator, and manages smaller regionally-branded firms around the country, including a fleet of 800 vehicles in Newcastle, 300 in
Oxford and Brighton, 800 ‘Go South Coast’ buses serving the beaches of Bournemouth and Poole and smaller operations in East Anglia and Plymouth.
The EFFITIRES solution provides Go-Ahead with a team of fleet operators, auditors, operations managers and technicians, as well as a predictable tyre budget linked to fleet activity, all of which ensure Go- Ahead’s fleet stays active, and hits targets for safety, reliability, tyre longevity and regulatory compliance. “Go-Ahead has built a strong relationship with Michelin solutions since the company first signed up to the EFFITIRES programme in 1997. After a review of our tyre strategy, it was the right decision to agree to extend our current EFFITIRES contract,” says Jim Collins, Go- Ahead’s Group Chief Engineer (Bus).
TIP Trailers Sweden
and ROSIERVANDENBOSCH Complete Ultra-Seal Deal
After its introduction to the European Commercial Vehicle Market in June 2016, Ultra-Seal has received interest at European level throughout the professional transport sector. This has resulted in companies such as DSV, ICTS and Ancotrans signing up to Ultra-Seal. However, Ultra-Seal can now also add TIP Trailers Sweden and MAN- dealer ROSIERVANDENBOSCH to its widening customer base.
Martin Nielsen, Country Operations Manager of TIP Trailers Sweden, says: “After hearing about the results of Ultra-Seal in the DSV fleet, we could not ignore the fact that Ultra-Seal could be valuable for our business and for our customers’ business operations. We have tested the product and are now using it, and we are already able to fill tyres of internal and external vehicles at our workshop in Gothenburg, and in the near future also at Jönköping and Helsingborg.”
Ultra-Seal is a
preventative tyre
sealant liquid
which was invented
to protect tyres
from leaks,
punctures and
blowouts. It seals
most punctures as
they happen,
achieving a
permanent repair,
ensuring heat
reduction, extending tyre life by maintaining air pressure, minimising tyre wear and reducing fuel consumption. It remains effective for the complete life of the tyre, without having to undergo extra maintenance. Ultra-Seal is environmentally friendly and provides the driver with an extra safety factor.
At this point in time, Ultra-Seal is working on expanding its reach via national distributors. The first new distributor for the French market is Henko, whose director Ludovic Morel is also director Angels Group, who own Auto Clean Service and Autobella. These two car wash leaders have over 100 stations in France. Henko has already undertaken the distribution in France to targeted transport companies, truck dealers and the OEM market.
