       New Michelin X Multi Energy
Michelin X Line Energy
Achieves AAA Rating
The 315/70 R 22.5 MICHELIN X MULTI ENERGY will be available in the future for steer and drive axles. Thanks to the combination of low rolling resistance, versatility and excellent mileage performance, this new tyre contributes to a substantial reduction in operating costs. Fuel savings can reach up to 1.1 litre per 100 kilometres on a tractor and trailer, compared to MICHELIN X MULTIWAY 3D. Despite this improvement the MICHELIN X MULTI ENERGY has not lost any mileage performance. This particularly high durability in- turn allows operators to reduce their service costs and vehicle downtime due to a reduction in tyre replacements. The new
InfiniCoil architecture stabilises the tread, reduces distortion and provides a consistent contact patch with the ground. The result is better grip and safety. This technology comprises an endless single steel cable of up to 400 metres wound around the entire circumference of the casing. The steel cables used in the ENERGY Flex casing are lighter but stronger. They also contribute to the stability and reduce tyre deformation, which increases longevity.
Available sizes are as follows: 315/70 R 22.5 MICHELIN X MULTI ENERGY Z 315/70 R 22.5 MICHELIN X MULTI ENERGY D Meanwhile, Michelin is also expanding the size range of the

carriers to achieve real fuel savings. With the 315/70 R 22.5 MICHELIN X LINE ENERGY D2, the first drive axle tyre with an ‘A’ grading for rolling resistance (according to the rules of the European labelling), Michelin offers carriers the first AAA rated tyre range on the market in rolling resistance for all vehicle axle positions. The 385/55 R 22.5 MICHELIN X LINE ENERGY F for steer axles and the 385/55 R 22.5 MICHELIN X LINE Energy T for
MICHELIN X MULTI ENERGY is therefore the ideal solution for use in local, regional or national operations.
To achieve these high levels of efficiency, Michelin's engineers have focused on specific areas of high performance and incorporated new technologies: A particularly low rolling resistance is achieved due to the special Silicion tread compound which is also optimised for high mileage. This innovative rubber compound significantly lowers fuel consumption. Meanwhile, a compact tread design comprising longitudinal and transverse sipes offers excellent running performance and high resistance to abrasion.
Excellent grip throughout the life of the tyre is achieved due to REGENION technology. This innovation combines different types of complex sipes of various lengths and widths which become apparent as the tread wears. This ability to regenerate ensures reliable grip and traction throughout the entire service life of the tyre. The
MICHELIN X MULTI. Already a leader for its durability, the new MICHELIN X MULTI now goes even further with 315/70 R 22.5 and 385/55 R 22.5 sizes. Available for all axles, the new MICHELIN X MULTI range is claimed to be the optimum solution to not only meet mileage requirements, but also to offer excellent grip and traction down to the tread-wear limit in difficult weather conditions. In terms of total mileage, the new generation of the MICHELIN X MULTI offers up to 15% more than its predecessor.
The latest generation of the MICHELIN X MULTI for steer and drive axles are certified with the 3PMSF logo, to offer safety and mobility on icy and snowy roads. Available sizes are 315/70 R 22.5 MICHELIN X MULTI Z 315/70 R 22.5 MICHELIN X MULTI D 385/55 R 22.5 MICHELIN X MULTI F and 385/55 R 22.5 MICHELIN X MULTI T2.

The fitment of this tyre range allows hauliers to save up to 1 litre of fuel per 100 km (a reduction of 2.66 kg of CO2 emitted over the same distance), compared to the fitment of MICHELIN X LINE Energy (BBA rated). This represents an average fuel saving of €1,610 during the first life of the tyre (prior to any regrooving/retreading).
Z Tyre Showcases New Truck Tyre Range
Making its debut at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Show in Hannover was the new commercial vehicle tyre range from Z Tyre. Stephan Nungess, the company’s General Manager for Central Europe, was on hand to present to new range to the public. The new range of Z truck tyres consists of 26 dimensions and includes in-demand replacement tyre sizes ranging from 17.5 to 22.5 inch fitments.
The new Z tyre is intended as an economical and reliable alternative for the truck and bus market. Produced by one of Asia’s
leading truck tyre
manufacturers, Z
commercial tyres
are available in a
range of
applications,
including regional
use and long haul.
The tyres are
claimed to offer
both excellent tyre
longevity and
reliable handling.
All Z tyres are designed to be extremely robust and wear resistant. The high quality of the range is also reflected in the excellent EU label values with, for example, the ZSR 2 exhibiting a wet grip ‘A’ label. The special tread compound technology used in the design optimizes water displacement and enhances safe driving on wet roads.
The new Z brand is focused on the European market and is managed throughout the continent from the Zenises European base in London.
