EFFITIRES Efficacy Set in Stone at Marshalls
Marshalls, the UK’s leading supplier of hard landscaping products, has signed its 383 road transport assets up to Michelin solutions’ EFFITIRES tyre management programme.
The price-per-kilometre deal covers 100 per cent of the
company’s mixed
fleet of 173 DAF,
MAN, Mercedes-
Benz, Renault and
Volvo tractor units
and rigid trucks, plus
210 crane-equipped
SDC Trailers.
Marshalls’ Regional
Logistics and Fleet
Manager Guy Ripley
said: “Michelin has
been Marshalls’
preferred tyre supplier for many years, and by ‘embedding’ Michelin solutions within our fleet, through the EFFITIRES programme, we’ve gained even greater control over our tyre budget.
“We’re especially pleased with the tyre usage and fleet activity reports
the programme generates, as we find being able to see the hard data incredibly useful,” he added; referring to the regular reporting and feedback supplied by Michelin solutions’ team of managers,
auditors and technicians.
The company’s fleet operates from 12 depots around the UK, and will continue to fit Michelin X MultiWay 3D XDE drive and XZE all-position tyres – the manufacturer’s latest generation regional tread pattern.
Greenergy Flexigrid
Chooses Goodyear FUELMAX
Greenergy Flexigrid, the fuel haulage service company within the Greenergy Group, is to fit more than 100 of its vehicles with Goodyear’s FUELMAX fuel efficient tyre. The company delivers around 5 billion litres of fuel a year to both retail and commercial customers, travelling over 11.5 million miles a year in the process.
Commenting on the decision to switch to a 100% Goodyear FUELMAX tyre fitment policy, Andy Darling, Business Development Manager at Greenergy Flexigrid, said: “Goodyear already operate within our sector, which means that they understand the challenges and nature of our business. Clearly, with a fleet as large as ours and doing the
sort of annual mileage typical to our operation, fuel efficiency is a major factor when considering the cost- efficiencies of our tyre investment. Goodyear had the most competitive offer, both in terms of driving cost out of our business through a fuel efficient tyre, and dedicated service support to improve our overall tyre management.”
Goodyear has highlighted the fuel efficiency performance of its FUELMAX tyres through a number of recent tests, including an internal test carried out by German fleet Spedition Bartkowiak. Their results confirmed a fuel saving potential of up to 1.6 litres per 100 kilometres per truck with Goodyear FUELMAX tyres.
