            Semperit Extends High-
Mileage Runner Tyre Family
 Ventech Debut at CV Show
Making their debut at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show was the German company, Ventech, whose PNEUSCAN tyre pressure and tread depth monitoring device
has been featured regularly in these pages. Demonstrating the benefits of PNEUSCAN were Sales Director Frank Stratmann and his colleague Heiko Briegel.
    New Sizes for Double Coin
Following a successful
launch last year, Semperit is introducing further additions
to its new Runner tyre
family. The steer-axle tyre,
Runner F2 and the drive-axle
tyre, Runner D2, which are
for use in combined regional
and long-distance
transportation, are now
available in the size 315/70
R 22.5. The high-mileage
tyres offer both a long service
life and good fuel efficiency.
Newly designed treads with a compact pattern (void optimised pattern) and specially developed rubber compounds make these tyres optimised for mileage.
Thanks to intelligent sipe geometry, the Semperit Runner tyres also get the vehicle safely to its destination – even on rain-soaked road surfaces. The Runner D2 315/70 R 22.5 drive- axle tyre is distinguished by both the M+S and Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) markings. The Runner F2 315/70 R 22.5 bears the M+S symbol. The steer-axle tyre also offers a higher load rating, meeting the new requirements for Euro 6
vehicles. The reinforced bead allows both tyres to effectively withstand varying loads and their improved wear behaviour increases driving comfort.
Of course, the new Semperit tyre range is only really complete with a matching trailer tyre. The Runner T2 385/65 R 22.5, which will be launched officially in the summer, was on display for the first time at the recent Commercial Vehicle Show 2016. Its wider tread delivers high mileage and the new composition of the rubber compound makes the trailer tyre more resistant to cuts.
All the tyres in the Semperit Runner family are regroovable and can be retreaded.
Kirkby Tyres always offers a strong presence at the CV Show, and once again the Liverpool based tyre wholesaler was exhibiting from two back-to- back stands, representing their two main brands, Double Coin and Sailun.
On the Double Coin stand, marketing manager Adam Bromilow as able to point out two new additions to the company’s range.
Firstly, the company’s RT606 bus and coach tyre is now available in a new size - 295/80 R 22.5. The RT606 is a 5-rib design with wide shoulders that are designed to enhance durability, traction and even
wear. It also has a reinforced sidewall to combat damage in urban use.
Also new was a new light truck size in the RT600 pattern 205/65 R 17.5.
