Michelin Delivers Cost- Efficiency to Hart’s Haulage
Cornwall-based Hart’s Haulage has switched to a 100 per cent Michelin policy, after a trial revealed the benefits of using the premium brand. The family-run company, which operates from a depot near the picturesque town of Redruth, previously operated a mixed tyre policy, but made the move to Michelin following a trial with a set
founder Neil Hart. “So, we looked at the alternatives, and after we witnessed the improved reliability and extra mileage our test Michelin tyre set offered, we made the switch.”
A specialist in hauling aggregates, tarmac, concrete, and providing a muck away service, Hart’s Haulage now fits Michelin tyres across its
of X MultiWay 3D XDE drive and XZE all-position tyres. “Tyre-related downtime was an issue we wanted to address,” says Hart’s Haulage Director and
entire fleet, which consists of a mix of 26 DAF, Scania and Volvo tractor units and tipper-bodied rigid trucks, plus tipper trailers and four concrete mixers.
Steve Benton Transport Selects Goodyear
Birmingham based haulier Steve Benton Transport will be adopting a 100% Goodyear tyre policy after agreeing a five-year-deal with the tyre manufacturer.
The haulier opted for the full Goodyear deal after receiving new trailers fitted with KMax last year and being impressed with their performance. The deal will now see the transport company fit Goodyear KMax and TreadMax only.
Steve Benton, Managing Director, commented: “It was an easy decision to
move to a sole
provider relationship with Goodyear. The KMax product is an impressive performer on mileage, with strong EU Tyre Label ratings. While cost of ownership was the main driving factor, having our account
managed by a person that understands our business was also an important consideration.”
Steve Benton Transport was established in 1992 and has grown consistently each year. The company works for a number of blue chip customers and specialises in High Value Loads, with all vehicles being tracked and monitored. It operates from three locations covering an area spanning from North London up to Nottingham, on a 24/7 basis.
