“We know the direct impact tyre choice and condition has on fuel efficiency – Michelin solutions is focused on unlocking these savings with us. As a fleet manager, it gives me a lot of confidence to know we’ve got professionals focused on making sure ever y single tyre is maintained in peak condition. Plus they are planning to significantly increase our regroove

  The UK’s leading independent retreader Bandvulc recently attended the sixth annual Red Ribbon Awards held at Shakespeare’s Globe in London having entered the Innovation Award category. Despite stiff competition from major businesses including Fortnum and Mason, the company was delighted to come away with the Bastows Innovation Award.
The judges commented; “Design and innovation are what set this company apart. From humble beginnings back in the 1970s, to a company, which today employs over 400 people and turns over £60million. They have made a commitment to developing their own in-house research and development department meaning they can always stay one step ahead with the latest thinking and innovations – something which is crucial for family firms who want to grow and thrive.”
The award was accepted by Ryan O’Connell, who commented;
“This award backs up everything we stand for at Bandvulc, with our focus always being firmly on ‘innovation’ throughout our business. This can be clearly seen in the recent announcements regarding the launch of new and innovative tyre products such as the Fuelmaster, which uses a fuel saving compound to deliver greater economy, the
Deliver ymaster, which has been specifically developed to cater for the demanding ‘Regional’ deliver y sector, and the Citymaster, which caters for the bus sector and protects the tyre from damage with its unique Armorband technology. As well as our products, our ever evolving fleet management solution , BV Plus+, is built on innovation and seeks to deliver to our customers solutions that match the needs of their business. We believe that our innovation will continue to drive our business and that of our customers forward.”
    Kirkby and Sailun Create National Dealer Network
This year, Kirkby Tyres and Sailun have created a nationwide Sailun dealership network, making Sailun truck tyres readily available in all regions. Dealers will
receive preferential pricing, work wear, point of sales material, technical training and corporate events. Tyre dealers interested in becoming a Sailun dealer, can find out more by calling 0870 242 8800 or emailing sales@kirkbytyres.co.uk. Meanwhile, new from Sailun, are the S701 long-haul drive, the S702 regional drive and the S629 long-haul/regional steer tyres. The S701 is designed for long-distance journeys with a specialised rubber tread compound providing excellent abrasion performance. The variable pitch tread design and narrow horizontal grooves effectively reduce tyre noise. The S702’s high wear resistance and low heat
generation rubber formula ensures excellent service life. Good grip performance provides excellent driving capability and the reinforcement ribs enhance
connection between pattern blocks and reduce irregular wear. The S629’s compound tread
formula provides excellent abrasion resistance and a unique shoulder design with deeper grooves prevents irregular wear. This paired with the wider running surface improves road contact offering excellent grip.
And finally, in a further piece of news, from the beginning of August until the end of January 2016, Kirkby Tyres and Sailun have teamed up with World Child Cancer, a charity, which has helped thousands of children in developing countries with their battle with cancer. For every Sailun truck tyre purchased through Kirkby Tyres, both Kirkby and Sailun will each donate £1 to World Child Cancer.
