the mould cure retreading system which is prevalent in the UK. According to Bader, the company is currently in the process of developing a retreading programme in conjunction with one of the country’s leading retreaders.
In January Kings Road Tyres announced that it had extended its distribution agreement with the manufacturer to include Aeolus branded CVR (Commercial Van Radial) tyres and this will be a key area of focus on the company’s stand
at the CV Show. Says Bader; “The van market in the UK is growing rapidly due to the increase in internet shopping. As a result we shall be highlighting Aeolus’ flagship Transace AL01 van fitment in 14 sizes, covering the majority of popular light commercial applications.”
Founded in 1965, Aeolus Tyre Co., Ltd. is a 100%-owned subsidiary of ChemChina and one of the 10 largest tyre manufacturers in China.

Giti Tire has announced an expansion to its GT Radial retreading portfolio, and will launch the new tyre at CV Show 2014. Available to view in hall five, stand C60, the GDR690 GT REE Tread is a drive position regional tyre available in 295/80 and 315/80 sizes, which will be solely manufactured using only GT Radial casings.
An acronym for reliable, economical and environmental, the REE Tread is a high quality, hot cure, bead-to-bead retread designed to both lower costs for operators and reduce the environmental impact of tyres. The move marks the first development of the range since launching the GTR990 REE Tread regional trailer pattern in size 385/65R22.5, and Tony McHugh, Sales and Marketing Director UK at Giti Tire, manufacturer of GT
Radial, says the timing
is right.
“Over the past two
years we have proven
the quality of our first
REE Tread tyre on
numerous fleets
throughout the UK,
and the response from operators has been
wholly positive,” said
McHugh. “As per the
product development
plan, the GDR690 has
arrived to meet
customer demand.
“We are proud that the
REE Tread is a hot
mould cure as the
process allows us to
create a tyre that looks
new, including
properly branded sidewalls which project the right image. While GT Radial is a mid-tier brand, we must produce premium tyres in addition to first-class value-added services.” Giti Tire will also be using CV Show 2014 to promote its GT Radial bus and coach credentials, with the GAU861 all position urban city-bus, GSR225 Combi Road steer axle, GAR820 regional all-position pattern and GT629 dedicated drive axle tyres all taking centre stage.
In addition the new GAM831 non-directional, all-position mixed service tyre will make its show debut alongside several established, popular fleet products. The company will display a number of sizes, highlighting the breadth and depth of its portfolio.
CV show to emphasise the value/performance positioning of the fast-growing Chinese brand. The manufacturer will be exhibiting its full range of truck, bus, coach and van tyres in conjunction with its
operators at the CV Show. Those fleets who have tried the Aeolus brand are now realising that the tyres make a great cost effective alternative to the established premium and mid- range brands.””
In addition to making tyres that meet UK operator requirements for retreading and regrooving, researchers and tyre designers at Aeolus have also factored in qualities such as driver comfort into their latest products. Since March 2012 all front wheel truck applications have undergone dynamic balance testing and X-ray assessment, before leaving the factory.
According to Bader, Aeolus are taking their brand’s retreadability seriously too, having changed the casing specification of the 295/80 R 22.5 tyre to make it easier to retread using

exclusive UK distributor, Kings Road Tyres (KRT), which has been responsible for sales of the brand since 2004.
According to Tim Bader, KRT’s Purchasing and Marketing Manager, Aeolus has managed to create a position for itself at the higher end of the budget sector and is one of a group of leading Chinese tyre manufacturers who have made considerable progress in recent times in improving the perceived quality of their brand.
