According to the VDA market report, the commercial vehicle market in Germany has been on the decline in terms of new registrations. The latest data shows that there was a total of 24,751 commercial vehicle registrations in February 2025 in Germany, representing a 23% decline compared to the last year. Year-to-date data shows 52,757 units registered, which is a 14% decline.
Light commercial vehicle registrations in Germany declined by 20% in February 2025, with 19,589 registrations. Year-to-date data also shows the declining trend in this category, with 41,498 new registrations, 10% less than in the previous year.
Heavy commercial vehicles (trucks ≥16t) have also declined significantly by 36%, with 3,573 new registrations in February 2025. Year-to-date data also shows a declining trend, with 7,891 new registrations, which is 30% less compared to 2024.
Just like the rest of the categories, bus registrations have also declined in Germany, with 439 registrations in February 2025, 14% less than in February 2024.
