Vaculug held its fourth Sustainability Forum at the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire on 23 October, attracting over 40 invited attendees.
Key Sustainability Event Continues to Grow
The forum, which continues to grow and attract leading participants from across the automotive sector, has become a key pillar of Vaculug’s sustainability strategy and a vehicle for the UK retreader to promote the sustainable credentials of retreading. As Chief Growth Officer Glenn Sherwood commented “Everyone who is running a fleet should be running retreads. It’s part of a natural policy.”
During the forum updates were given on initiatives that have arisen out of the event including the Driver’s Walk Round Video Link, and V-Torque, a retorque app, which aims to improve wheel security by solving loose wheel nut syndrome. The app, launched this month, has already completed testing with several tyre dealers.
Key speakers at the forum were Des and Dennis Evans who presented their unique and highly insightful view on the challenge to the automotive sector of the global drive to net zero, which was likened to trying to dismantle a business model in 25 years that has served the industry well for 100 years.”
The next Vaculug Sustainability Forum will take place in Spring 2025 at a location yet to be announced.
