In the thirty-three, or so, years since its creation, Triangle Tire has grown from just another Chinese tyre manufacturer to a producer of premium quality tyres for the commercial vehicle market
Triangle Adds to its Truck Range
Triangle produces over 700 kinds of radial tyres in more than 160 sizes and manufactures nearly 400 types of bias tyres in more than 100 sizes. Annual production exceeds 10 million units, including over 7 million in radials which have become the backbone of the brand in the form of radial passenger car tyres, radial light truck, and truck tyres, and radial OTR tyres.
Two of the latest additions to the Triangle portfolio are the T Regional Haul TRD09 and the T Regional Haul TRS06.
The TRD09 is Triangle’s next-generation truck tyre, designed for performance in both regional and long-haul applications. It is the result of Triangle’s latest Research & Development efforts, combined with field testing to guarantee a broad range of operational performance. Offering increased mileage and traction, with an optimised tread design and longer casing life, Triangle’s T-Regional Haul tyre delivers all-round safe and reliable performance.
The asymmetrical pattern with large block design and connecting bars improves wear uniformity throughout the entire tyre life, with the required traction performance. The 4-belt construction optimises the footprint and shape of the casing and increases the retreadability of the tyre. The TRD09 Super Wear Compound is claimed to offer high wear and scrub resistance, with exceptional mileage in regional and long-haul conditions.
TRD09 has been designed to maximise the fleet’s return on investment, by delivering durability, safety maximum retreading properties.
The launch model shown at The Tire was in the size 295/80R22.5 and soon will also be introduced as a 315/80R22.5.
Triangle has also focused on developing a high-performance steer tyre. This can be found in the TRS06 dedicated to steering axles for both regional and long-haul applications. A new advanced tread compound offers high mileage performance and regular wear, while a large pattern guarantees a wider contact patch, increasing handling and braking performance.
The new groove design, including stone ejectors, avoids stone trapping and prevents general tread damages, especially when used in more severe regional applications.
TRS06 design features a 4-belt construction, big blocks, link bars and wide shoulder ribs, offering reduced tread deformation and increased stability for excellent wear performance and high mileage.
The introductory sizes will be 295/80R22.5, 315/80R22.5 and 12R22.5.
