Giti took centre stage on Sunday night’s Top Gear (June 19) with all three presenters taking part in a British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) round in a HGV special.
Giti Hits Top Gear
Presenters Chris Harris, Freddie Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness all passed their lorry driving tests before driving across the UK in new DAF, Mercedes and Scania pulling units to Pembrey Race Circuit, where McGuinness then competed in a fully liveried Giti truck.
Top Gear remains one of the BBC’s flagship entertainment programmes and, according to The Guardian, is watched by over 350 million people in more than 200 countries.
The episode was put together with the assistance of Team Oliver principle, Stuart Oliver and supported by Giti’s technical team.
For the very first time this season, the BTRC is running exclusively on Giti Race-Tuned v1 global competition truck tyres in size 315/70R22.5. The deal means that Giti Tire, BTRC’s Official Tyre Partner, will be fitted on all 20 trucks across seven events which make up the 2022 season.
Giti Race-Tuned v1 global competition truck tyres are available to purchase via Truck Sport UK.
Tony McHugh, TBR Sales and Marketing Director UK at Giti Tire, said: “Our thanks to everyone who made the episode possible, it really was a fantastic day, and the entire Top Gear crew were a pleasure to work with.
“To see Giti front-and-centre on prime time BBC is of course a massive boost for the brand and we will be making the most of the coverage with customers and across social media.”
