Part 9 in our Agricultural Feature sees us take a look at the latest agricultural machinery registrations in Spain for 2022. After a slew of decreases in the latter half of 2021, January stayed true to form with a dip of 7.62% in tractor registrations in figures released by the Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación (the Ministry for Agriculture, Fishing and Food).
Tractor Sales Remain on a Decline, Although Agricultural Machinery Stays Stable
After a near 10% increase in tractor figures for 2021 and a minor decrease in agricultural machinery figures, January marked a slight reversal of fortunes for the two segments. There were 667 tractors registered in January 2022 against 722 in January 2021. Andalucía was head and shoulders above the competition, with 160 units sold, against Castilla y León, Cataluña and Castilla – La Mancha, who registered 70, 70 and 69 units, respectively.
Agricultural machinery ended the year on a slight 3.48% decline in 2021, with a tough December making the difference for the final year figures. In January 2022, 146 units were registered against 142 in January 2021, marking a 2% increase. Andalucía scored 42 of the registrations, with Castilla y León, Cataluña and Castilla – La Mancha once again competing for second, third and fourth places respectively with 16, 15 and 12 units.
