After a bumpy start to the year, the latest figures show a market returning to form as sales of both tractor and agricultural machinery exceed March 2021 levels in figures released by the Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación (the Ministry for Agriculture, Fishing and Food).
Reduced Registrations for First Quarter of 2022
There were 1,010 tractors sold in March 2021, which narrowly beats the 995 units recorded last March. Agricultural machinery fared better still, with 1,925 units against 1,784 making for a near 8% increase. Looking to the first three months, 2,461 tractors were registered against 2,605 units in the same three-month period of 2021, which represented almost a 6% drop, whilst 4,428 units of agricultural equipment were recorded against 4,640 the previous year, making for a near 5% dip.
Andalucía continues to be ahead of the other regions with a quarter share of tractor sales as 257 tractors and 40 Agricultural machinery units were registered. They were followed by Castilla y León with 122 tractors and 22 units of agricultural machinery.
