Hankook and Deutsche Bahn entered into a four-year partnership earlier this month. Around 6,000 buses at 80 locations will be equipped with Hankook tyres.
The New Partnership
For the next four years, DB Regio buses will be running on premium tyres from Hankook, with the partnership starting this April. It covers DB Regio’s bus fleet, which consists of 6,000 buses at 80 locations around Germany. The framework agreement concluded between Deutsche Bahn AG and Hankook Reifen Deutschland GmbH is initially limited to four years, with the option to extend the agreement after that period.
Reliable Tyres for All Requirements
Hankook offers a wide product range of tyres suitable for DB Regio buses, starting from the SmartCity and Smartcontrol series to Alphatread hot retreaded tyres and cold retreaded tyres from Hankook subsidiary Reifen Müller.
Hankook’s product range covers all challenges and requirements such as the stop-and-go, which is common in city operations, as well as winter suitability in snowy and icy weather conditions. Hankook also provides services to ensure optimal use of the tyres.
“For Hankook, the collaboration with Deutsche Bahn is an important milestone in our fleet strategy. We hereby underline our know-how regarding tyres in the commercial vehicle segment buses. With this cooperation, we are also making an important contribution to sustainable mobility and thus emphasising our commitment in this area,” says Manfred Zoni, Sales Director and Head of Sales Truck and Bus Products at Hankook Reifen Deutschland GmbH.
