Firestone announced the launch of the Firestone Vanhawk 3, the brand’s new summer EV-ready van tyre for light commercial vehicles.
New Firestone Vanhawk 3 Enhances Mileage, Efficiency, and Wet Performance for Drivers
Replacing the Vanhawk 2, the Firestone Vanhawk 3 delivers longer mileage, improved fuel/energy efficiency, and enhanced wet braking versus its predecessor. Compared to the Vanhawk 2, the latest van tyre from Firestone provides 13% longer mileage, a 10% rolling resistance reduction, and a 13% improvement in wet braking. These enhancements earned the Firestone Vanhawk 3 an EU label B-grade for wet grip and a B-grade for fuel efficiency in selected sizes.
The new Firestone Vanhawk 3 integrates ENLITEN Technology, the company’s innovative approach to tyre development. Applied in the Vanhawk tyre family for the first time, ENLITEN delivers improved wear efficiency through an increased tread depth for additional mileage, with its compound providing optimised abradability.
Enhanced Fuel Efficiency, Grip, and EV-ready
The tyre’s improved fuel/energy efficiency is made possible by optimised energy dissipation to minimise energy loss, and an enhanced compound ensures low dissipation during tyre rolling. To deliver the tyre’s wet braking performance, optimised grooves and sipe distribution maximise water evacuation, while the improved compound maximises grip. Additionally, ENLITEN ensures that the new Firestone Vanhawk 3 is fully EV-ready.
“The Firestone Vanhawk 3 is for professionals and private van drivers looking to invest in a durable and cost-efficient tyre,” said Stefano Sanchini, Vice President of Consumer Replacement at Bridgestone EMEA.
“With the introduction of ENLITEN, we’ve taken the best of the Vanhawk 2 – fuel economy, mileage and wet weather handling – and significantly improved all three areas. The Vanhawk 3 provides improved performance across the board for everyday journeys.1”
Developed in Europe, the latest van tyre from Firestone will be available in 15” to 17” in 20 short sizes and 23 long sizes—meeting over 95% of demand coverage. Launching in January 2025, the new Firestone Vanhawk 3 will be available across Europe.
