Mobility Sweden published its market overview, showing declining numbers for most categories in March 2025, with light commercial vehicle (LCV) registrations declining for 11 months in a row now.

According to Mobility Sweden market overview, LCV registrations continue to decline, with 2,899 new light trucks registered in March 2025, which is 29.5% less compared to the same period last year. From January 2025 to March 2025, there was a total of 7,668 LCV registrations in Sweden, 26% less compared to the same period in 2024. Sofia Linder, Chief Economist at Mobility Sweden, explained: “Light trucks are now in decline for the eleventh month in a row. Therefore, the support that the government has introduced for light electric trucks needs to be extended.” Volkswagen, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Toyota were among the most purchased LCVs in Sweden in March 2025.
Heavy truck registrations declined by 4% in March 2025, with 430 new registrations, according to Mobility Sweden. From January 2025 to March 2025, the number declined by 2%, with 1,206 trucks registered. Scania, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, DAF and MAN were among the most purchased heavy trucks in March 2025.
Bus registrations, however, had a very sharp increase in March 2025, with 134 registrations, which is a 332% growth compared to the same period last year. From January 2025 to March 2025, the number of bus registrations in Sweden increased by 190%, with 374 new units registered. MAN, Solaris, Mercedes-Benz, Setra and Volvo were among the most purchased buses in Sweden in March 2025.
