The recent Mobility Sweden data shows a decreasing trend for commercial vehicle registrations in August 2024 in Sweden.
LCV Registrations Show Slight Decrease Against 2023
In August 2024, Mobility Sweden reported 2,590 light commercial vehicle registrations, a 36% decrease compared to August 2023. From January 2024 to August 2024, there was a total of 26,165 light commercial vehicles registered, a 0.4% decrease compared to the same period last year. Volkswagen, Ford and Mercedes-Benz were among the most purchased brands in this category.
The heavy truck market experienced a significant drop in August 2024, with a total of 368 trucks registered, 76% less than in August 2023. From January 2024 to August 2024, Mobility Sweden reported 3,402 heavy trucks registered, 34.2% compared to the same period last year. Scania, Volvo, and Mercedes-Benz were the heavy trucks purchased the most.
The bus market follows the decreasing trend, with 118 bus registrations in August 2024, 60% less than in August 2023. The number of bus registrations decreased from January 2024 to August 2024 as well, with a total of 465 buses registered, 39% less compared to the same period last year, according to Mobility Sweden data. Mercedes-Benz, Scania and Iveco were among the most purchased buses.
