Magna MA04 Performance Delivers Annual Supply Contract in Saudi Arabia
Recently, a Magna customer started working with the 2400R35 Magna MA04 at their mining site in Saudi Arabia. The severe mining conditions on the site proved to be no problem for the rigid dump truck tyres. Their performance was beyond expectation, with no premature failures whilst delivering a low tyre cost per hour. Following this performance, the company has decided to close an annual contract
and has also added several other sizes to the delivery programme. The Magna MA04 is intended for rigid dump trucks in heavy-duty mining conditions. The improved shoulder and sidewall protection offers enhanced resistance to damage, and different compounds are available to optimise performance for different applications.

Urban Contract with Stoke-on-Trent City Council
Having successfully undertaken a one vehicle trial since the start of the year, Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s refuse collection department has commenced the fitment of Giti GT867 across its fleet.
An urban all-position tyre with reinforced sidewalls, size 315/80R22.5 is now also utilised on its Dennis Eagle fleet across domestic waste on 4x2 and 6x2 and trade waste on 6x2 configurations. Barry Machin, Workshop Operations Manager at Stoke-on- Trent City Council, said: “As a rule, new urban tyres do not have a kerbing band, and we trialled several manufacturers but found we were scrapping tyres with three- quarter tread on them as the sidewall had perished.
“The GT867 has reinforced sidewalls on both sides of the tyre, so when the wear indicator shows the correct time we can simply rotate. This means the tyre has a second life, and due to the very rugged casing there is far more
mileage used on the tread. Ultimately this means we are getting an excellent financial return.
“This is an exceptional tyre that has lasted far longer than anything we have used before.”
Specially designed for constant stop and go operating conditions with frequent changes in speed as well as direction, the GT867 is also aimed at single and double decker buses and is available in 11R22.5, 295/80R22.5, 305/70R22.5 and 315/80R22.5. Load capacity ranges from 148/145 to 158/150. Reinforced sidewalls protect the tyre from curbing damage and abrasion while a wear indicator shows the correct time to rotate or remove from service. In addition a very wide tread pattern with deep grooves provides excellent mileage and an advanced tread block and siping reduces noise and improves comfort.
All four sizes are M+S marked to indicate all-season traction and braking properties.
