Develops Products for Recycling Operations
Earthmax SR 53 is available in the five sizes 17.5 R 25, 20.5 R 25, 23.5 R 25, 26.5 R 25 and 29.5 R 25.
Likewise, for the toughest tasks and the most insidious challenges in the world of recycling, BKT has designed Earthmax SR 55, which stands out for both robustness and strength. The smooth surface of its deep, L5-S-class tread allows this tyre to best
withstand peak productivity with reduced downtime. Stability, safety and driving comfort make it viable for loaders operating in severe conditions during loading and levelling operations. This tyre is presently available in six different sizes: 12.00 R 24, 17.5 R 25, 18.00 R 25, 26.5 R 25, 29.5 R 25 and 29.5 R 29.
BKT has been able to find solutions even for the most demanding and toughest operating conditions in recycling applications, offering products for loaders and material- handling machinery. This sector and related application areas are particularly demanding for tyre manufacturers in that the products are often subjected to severe strain. Not only do they have to meet the requirements as far as resistance and durability are concerned, but they must also offer stability to the equipment and a certain level of comfort to the operator. At material storage sites it is also essential that the vehicles employed are robust and
for its self-cleaning properties as well as enhanced grip and traction on both wet and dry surfaces. This brand-new product is available in size 405/70 R 20.
Earthmax SR 43 is a radial tyre for all loading and material-transport operations in storage, collection and recycling sites, as well as in caves, open pit mines and scrap yards. It is characterised by high resistance and an extended life-cycle thanks to the reinforced sidewall. Moreover, the tread design provides enhanced traction and stability, while its self- cleaning properties facilitate the ejection of debris - a frequent issue during recycling operations. The
Vacu-Lug Takes Tyre Management to the Next Level with the Launch
of VMS Mobile
Vacu-Lug has launched its own tyre fleet management app to provide customers with remote access to their vehicle data. Called VMS Mobile, the new app summarises individual vehicle information held online within Vacu-Lug’s VMS tyre management system and, says the company, is an essential tool for vehicle monitoring and compliance control.
To view vehicle data, a VMS user can either enter a specific registration or fleet number or alternatively search for a customer name and contract by selecting various options from the drop-down menu. Then, a specific vehicle can be selected from the fleet list and relevant information such as the vehicle’s wheel configuration, along with work and inspection history, can be seen.
Selecting a particular date or job provides more detail of the work, including axle and wheel position, tread depth, the job authorisation number, the service provider and servicing centre, along with the related job sheet number. To see more history, the customer simply scrolls down to see all previous work completed, in date order. When the inspection screen is selected, the app reveals the date of the most recent tyre inspection via a vehicle schematic, disclosing each tyre fitted by make and tread depth. Pressing the down arrow reveals the previous month’s inspection data. Where work has been identified as being needed, a toolkit symbol is visible, alerting the customer and informing them of the reason for the work and the action required. Vacu-Lug customers with VMS Online credentials can access VMS Mobile using the same username and passwords.
Commenting on the new app, Dave Alsop, Vacu-Lug’s Sales and Marketing Director says:
“With the evolving digital landscape, we saw an opportunity to provide our customers with a mobile app which makes it easier to keep a handle on vehicle inspections and work history from any point in the UK. In short, VMS Mobile provides finger-tip management for compliance and fleet control – anytime, anywhere.”
VMS Mobile is available to download from both the App and Play store.

Currently, BKT offers a variety of Tyres that can operate in recycling operations
offer good manoeuvrability. In this, like many other applications, the tyre is the key to enhance equipment functionality, allowing it to easily move even in narrow spaces, achieving speed in line with productivity, as well as keeping in mind budgetary concerns such as time and fuel savings.
Top of the list for this application is the BK-Loader 53. This is an aramid- belted tyre developed to equip loaders in industrial applications. It is suitable for recycling operations thanks to its special tread design ensuring optimum lateral stability, and to an extra-deep tread providing resistance against tears, cuts and punctures. In addition, the BK-Loader 53 stands out
result is puncture prevention and reduced machine downtime. Earthmax SR 43 is available on the market in size 29.5 R 29.
Also available are the well-known Earthmax SR 53 and Earthmax SR 55 products, which combine well with all the requirements needed for recycling operations. The first is particularly suitable for loaders and dozers under extreme operating conditions such as those found on the harsh and rocky ground in mining operations, or on the surfaces found in metal recycling plants. The deep L- 5-class tread reduces wear and shows good self-cleaning properties. Lastly, the special tread compound offers additional resistance to cuts and heat.
