Operators Take Control Using Vacu-Lug’s Tyre Management System
Trelleborg Announces Five Percent Price Increase
Trelleborg, the global supplier of tyres and complete wheel systems for agricultural and forestry tyres machinery, has announced a five percent price increase on agricultural and forestry tyres in Europe, effective February 1st, 2017.
The price rise, which includes Trelleborg branded tyres for agricultural, forestry and light agricultural applications, is driven by the recent increase in raw material prices.
The latest upgrade of Vacu-Lug’s VMS system has added a self-authorisation function, which allows customers to validate and authorise any work that has been carried out on their vehicles from their own computer. This development means that customers wishing to use this added function can accept or reject their own pending authorisations and quer y transactions if necessary.
Peace of mind is also assured, as the customer can be confident that no work will be invoiced without their authorisation. Through the system,
for those extra vehicles added on an ad hoc basis to a fixed price contract, self-authorisation has now been adapted to work for pay-as-you-go customers as well, thus allowing them to control expenditure of all the vehicles within their fleet.
Adding comments through the secure web portal ultimately saves customers time – removing the need to make a phone call or write an email – while still providing a detailed trail which is held within the system.
“This latest development means customers can keep a close handle on

BVF1RST, the wholesale arm of the Bandvulc Group is now the exclusive supplier of the Uniroyal truck tyre brand across the UK. Uniroyal, a Continental brand, benefits from premium truck tyre technology. Over many years, the brand has developed a reputation for performance and safety. Bandvulc Group is one of the leading UK fleet management service providers and independent
truck tyre retreaders, and was acquired as an owned subsidiary of Continental UK Group Holdings in July 2016. Building on this, throughout 2016 a new generation of tyres has been introduced. These meet the modern day needs of transport companies and provide consistent performance and safety for regional applications and long- distance routes. The
new steer axle FH 40,
drive axle DH 40 and trailer axle TH 40 tyres offer increased mileage, wet performance and reduced rolling resistance over predecessors.
Patrick O’Connell, Managing Director of Bandvulc Group, said; “Our partnership with Continental has opened up a number of new opportunities. Uniroyal has a strong heritage and a great range of tyres with
proven performance. It makes a lot of sense for the Group to distribute, manage and control the supply of Uniroyal in the UK, especially as we have established distribution operations across the UK.”
O’Connell added; “In addition to wholesaling the full Uniroyal range to commercial tyre service providers
across the UK, we have also started to specify and fit Uniroyal tyres to our
existing fleet portfolio managed through
BVPLUS+.” Thanks to a newly developed tread design, Uniroyal’s

The bead of the carcass has been reinforced for increased durability, while the optimised cord density means that the tyres can withstand changing loads and the special inner liner prevents gradual loss of pressure. Uniroyal’s steer axle tyres are designed to have a higher Load Index, and are therefore suitable for Euro 6 vehicles.
Tyre Intelligence Europe Set to Launch
A new industry data service set to deliver robust, speedy and insightful tyre sales data views and reports for mainland UK and Northern Ireland dealers and subscribers, is being launched this month.
Tyre Intelligence Europe will present consumer tyre sales data as well as turnover data for commercial and OTR. The service will represent a wide sample population, delivered within a dashboard format that is accessed by secure login, making it both dynamic and tailorable to the
viewer.
Spokesperson Steve Daly says, “Tyre Intelligence Europe is casting a wider net in terms of the sharer dealers that will make up the data population. And it takes advantage of modern Business Intelligence technology to present information dynamically. “Sharer” dealers and subscribers will also benefit from the speedy collation and delivery of the data; being within days rather than weeks of the end of a previous calendar month.”
