By means of its PNEUSCAN DAT and PNEUSCAN ID modules VENTECH Systems is able to provide safety-relevant tyre and vehicle data to fleet managers. Today, it is good practice for fleet operators to know at any time where, when and how their vehicles are running. Telematics services offer useful tools, in order to monitor and control the complete logistics chain in real time.
In addition to data for route planning, flow of goods, temperature monitoring or anti- theft protection of the load, information regarding the tyre and
axial load condition can be safety- relevant. This is, where the specialist for stationary tyre inspection equipment, Dorsten, Germany-based VENTECH Systems comes in.
"We provide to the users of our PNEUSCAN equipment vehicle and tyre data via a standardised interface. The measurement of data such as air pressure, tread depth, axial load and total vehicle weight is combined with a time stamp and vehicle registration or RFID, which allows the creation of a database and systematic evaluation", explained the technical manager of VENTECH
Systems GmbH, Andreas Pietsch. Fleet managers and schedulers should at any time be able to carry out analyses and to initiate countermeasures in the case of any possible problems. The overall information input can be combined with telematics data such as mileage, fuel consumption, GPS tracking and driver information. Based on the collected data over the course of time, it is possible to draw conclusions with respect to the usage behaviour of the fleet. Repeatedly critical test results or pending measurements can be easily tracked and the respective root causes can be effectively removed.
The inspection results can also be filtered according to demand. Options include daily, weekly or monthly evaluation of critical tyres or the adjustment of tread depths defined in advance.
The PNEUSCAN DAT data management system supplies the measured values in real time at any workstation - both for schedule planning and fleet management. Thus, the results can be
professionally monitored, evaluated and displayed for every vehicle.
A major advantage of the PNEUSCAN ONGROUND variant, which was presented for the first time at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, as well as the fact that the system is integrated into the floor, is the fact that no technical intervention at the vehicle or the tyres is necessary. The fully-automatic measuring device includes a digital display with optional data printer as well as special cameras for the front and/or rear of the truck or bus.
