Data Checks
The RAC has extended its popular RAC vehicle check service to cover light commercial vehicles (LCVs). Buyers can now benefit from the peace of mind and protection offered by a comprehensive vehicle check, with many motorists relying on the RAC’s service before purchasing their next vehicle.
The online service is priced at £14.99 and provides information to prospective buyers on the vehicle’s history. Buyers can find out in seconds whether the LCV they are looking to buy is stolen, written-off or still on finance. Beyond this, the RAC vehicle check provides a personalised valuation, to confirm whether the asking price is fair or not, as well as a checklist of things to look for when viewing the vehicle which could help
in negotiating on price.
RAC Director of Motoring Services Rob Diamond said: “The LCV market is booming and there are bargains to be had in the private used market in particular, but, understandably, small businesses looking for their next vehicle will want some reassurance that their purchase is a good one – not least because small businesses clock up so many more miles per year on average than private motorists. A vehicle check can really help here – for instance, it is the case that many LCVs are originally bought on finance, and an SME will not want to be stung with being responsible for another firm’s outstanding debts.”
Continental has been announced as the official tyre supplier of the Volvo Concept Truck project. Volvo Trucks, part of the Volvo Group, provides complete transport solutions for professional and demanding customers, offering a full range of medium and heavy duty trucks. The main goal of the project is to improve the freight- moving efficiency of future trucks and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. The project focuses on the complete vehicle, both truck and trailer. Volvo developers, together with other key suppliers, have looked at many innovative solutions to meet the project’s ambitious targets.
“To strengthen our long-standing collaboration and development partnership with Volvo Trucks,
Continental is participating in the project as the official tyre supplier. We supported the ambitious and future-oriented project goals by supplying special prototype tyres with superior rolling resistance performance,” said Klaus Kreipe, Head of Original Equipment (OE) Truck Tyres at Continental. “During the tyre development, several innovative measures were taken for all prototype tyres, which enable improved fuel efficiency with well- balanced performance in other criteria.”
As a result of the cooperation, the concept truck was equipped with Continental tyres 315/70 R22.5 for both steer and drive axles, while the trailer of the concept truck was equipped with 385/55 R22.5 tyres.
ATS Euromaster Beats 50th Anniversary Fundraising Target for Macmillian
ATS Euromaster has gone past its fundraising targets for its 50th anniversary year by collecting more than £57,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The tyre and vehicle maintenance provider pledged to raise £50,000 for the charity but beat its target thanks to a variety fundraising initiatives. Apart from centres across the network participating in Macmillan Cancer Support’s famous Coffee Morning event, technicians and team members have thrown themselves out of aeroplanes, climbed Britain’s tallest mountains, run half-marathons and even
interrupted a monthly sales meeting to cycle 125 miles as part of a static bike relay.
All of the funds generated by ATS Euromaster in combination with its suppliers and customers could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for one year and on average, over this period they will help and support almost 150 cancer patients. Due to this year’s success, ATS has committed to retaining Macmillan Cancer Support as its official charity for another year, with plans afoot to raise more funds for the charity in its 340 centres across the country.
