Hankook Tire has announced the prolongation of its sponsorship contract with the UEFA Europa League for another three years until the end of the 2017/18 season. Sport sponsorship activities are an integral part of the company’s marketing strategy in the region and have contributed to 13% and 6% increases in consumer’s brand awareness and brand reference respectively in the European market.
As a result of the deal Hankook says it will benefit from additional brand exposure such as increased perimeter board advertising in the stadiums, media backdrops during players interviews, as well as during official UEFA press conferences. In contrast to the previous sponsorship cycle Hankook’s perimeter board advertising will be visible from the
group stages through to the final match.
“The UEFA Europa League is a perfect fit to our brand claim ‘Driving Emotion’, explained Ho Youl Pae, Head of Hankook Tire Europe.“Both Hankook and the UEFA Europa League stand out for their passion for premium performance and their tremendous enthusiasm for excellence in their respective ‘sports’. While the UEFA Europa League is Europe's biggest club competition, bringing together talented, international players and high-profile teams, it is Hankook’s mission to provide its customers with premium tyres developed with the latest, innovative technologies to provide them with the best possible driving experience at all times.”

Bridgestone in Seventh Heaven after Sales Results
Bridgestone is celebrating its best month for truck and bus radial original equipment tyre (TBR) sales for seven years, in a huge success story for the brand. Thousands of OE tyres sold in the UK bore the famous ‘B’ mark during June due to increasing requests from fleets for the premium product, coupled with a fast, efficient response to demand. The results underline an impressive first half for Bridgestone’s commercial team, which has already returned a number of notable results and achievements, including a series of new fleet wins and contract extensions. Bridgestone now boasts an impressive original equipment customer portfolio, including Dennison Trailers, Fruehauf, Gray & Adams, Cartwright Trailers and Dennis Eagle vehicles.
Bridgestone’s national fleet sales
manager Chris Buchanan said that a combination of premium product and efficient service played critical roles in the sales success for June.
He said: “It has been a three year process to get to this point, where relationships have been forged and where we’ve really explained the benefits of our premium products. Price is always an issue, but fleets really appreciate the longevity of our tyres, not to mention the technology that goes into each and every one of our tyres.
“However, I feel that our efficient response to any fleet request really does separate us from our competitors and our bespoke, tailored team can turn around any order in seven days or under. With up to 190 different tyre and wheel combinations, this really does play a huge part in our overall OE proposition to fleets.”
