Giti Tire to Launch New Drive Axle Tyre at CV Show
Giti Tire will use CV Show 2015 to launch its latest GT Radial next generation drive-axle tyre, as well as highlight the
strength and
depth of the ever-
expanding
portfolio. With 21
patterns on show
from a range
consisting of 28,
the stand will be
split into road,
combi, urban,
mixed and winter
to allow for a far
more defined
customer
experience.
Making its debut
at stand 4G40, the GDR638 is a high-performance drive axle tyre designed specifically for medium- sized trucks and buses. A new pattern featuring four longitudinal grooves provides good traction and braking with improved vehicle stability and driver comfort, while a new casing and footprint design delivers good regular wear with high-mileage potential. The GDR638 will be available in April in 245/70R17.5 and 235/75R17.5, with seven further 17.5” and 19.5” sizes due before the end of the year.
Also on stand at CV Show 2015 will be the GSR225 Combi Road steer axle, which is Euro VI compliant on all steer applications, the GAU861 all-position urban city-bus, the GAM831 non- directional, all-position mixed service, GSW226 winter-marked high-traction steer axle plus the GAR820 regional all-position tyres. Tony McHugh, TBR Sales and Marketing Director UK at Giti Tire, said: “The company has an ongoing product development
programme for GT Radial, hence every 12 months we have new and next generation tyres making their
debuts at literally every show we attend.
“With every new tyre we see a marked increase in quality, as proven by research and development criteria and on-the- road trials prior to launch. This objective forms the basis of the brand’s goal, to produce premium quality tyres at mid-market prices.”

The NEC in Birmingham opens its doors to the transport industry once again between 14-16 April when it hosts the latest edition of the Commercial Vehicle Show. The event, which is the largest and most comprehensive road freight transport event staged in the UK, attracted 18,884 visitors last year. Three out of four visitors to the CV Show is a fleet owner, senior manager or engineer, which makes it the ideal exhibition for tyre suppliers wanting to communicate directly with their fleet customers, many of whom will only attend this exhibition within the course of the year. However, the show also
they somehow failed to connect with many of the UK’s leading tyre manufacturers, because not all of them have been regular exhibitors at the event over the course of the last five years.
This year, however, just about every major player will be present, including Pirelli, who will be exhibiting at the show for the first time.
Key tyre and wheel related companies exhibiting at the show include:
Air-Seal Products (Stand 4D21) ATS Euromaster (Stand 4D10) Bandvulc (Stand 4J90)
provides good opportunities for manufacturers wanting to read the trade more effectively, not least because there is no other UK based exhibition (including, I have to say, the UK’s dedicated tyre industry event), which brings quite as many of the market’s leading truck tyre suppliers together in the same place at the same time.
The organisers of the CV Show will no doubt admit that in recent years
