GT Radial GSR225 Combi Road Makes European Debut
available in sizes 295/80, 315/70,315/80, 275/70 and 315/60. Load indexes range from 148/145M to 156/150L.
Also on show for the first time was the new GDR690 REE Tread, a regional drive axle tyre available in 295/80 R 22.5 and 315/80 R 22.5 and retreaded solely using GT Radial casings. Standing for Reliable, Economical and Environmental, the GT REE Tread programme is designed to both lower the operational costs for the fleet operator and limit the impact
of used casings on the environment.
Adding further to the GT Radial product range was the new GAM 831 all position tyre for mixed service applications. This non- directional M+S marked pattern features excellent self cleaning properties and, with extra- reinforced sidewall, provides protection against damage and impacts. GAM 831 is available in 295/80 R 22.5, 315/80 R 22.5 and 13 R 22.5.
Continental Presents New Conti Hybrid Tyre Range
The CV Show 2014 saw Continental presenting its newly- developed tyre range Conti Hybrid for the first time. In answer to the diversity of the regional transport
Conti Hybrid HD3 in 19.5 inch for steer and drive axles are designed for vehicles of over 12 tonnes total weight. The new Conti Hybrid tyres allow for the
GT Radial’s recently launched GSR225 Combi Road multi-usage tyre made its European show
debut at the CV Show.
The new tyre has a specially developed tread and base
compounds to improve mileage and a wider tread pattern to deliver excellent handling and extra resistance to tearing and curbing, making it appropriate for a wide variety of regional and long- haul vehicles. In addition a new casing construction has been developed for increased load indexes to cater for Euro VI regulations and the extra weight which will be added to the axle by emission filters and other air cleaning devices. The GSR225 Combi Road 22.5” tyre is currently
segment, Continental is introducing a whole new tyre family, in 17.5, 19.5, and 22.5 inch sizes. The range will address the challenges faced in regional delivery with long tyre life and a high degree of fuel efficiency. Specially developed for city and regional distribution, at 17.5 inch rim diameter, the Conti Hybrid LS3 for steer axles and the Conti Hybrid LD3 for drive axles, are suitable for light trucks up to a total weight of 12 tonnes.
The new Conti Hybrid HS3 and
higher unladen weight of modern Euro 6 vehicles and are designed for varying load conditions, as is usual in regional transportation. The Conti Hybrid HT3 19.5 is designed for semitrailers and trailers. The steer axle tyre Conti Hybrid HS3 22.5 inch is breaking new ground for applications in the heavy segment. The Conti Hybrid tyres will be available at the start of the second half of 2014.
