The enclosure is made from structural steel sections welded together to form a labyrinth section, which effectively
controls the high pressure release of gas from a tyre failure. The top of the device is open to direct most of the high speed gas vertically away from the operator. The enclosure sides, back panel and door, meanwhile, are welded and designed to dissipate the energy released during a tyre explosion. Available in three different sizes, the Tiresafe cages are also strong enough to withstand the force of a wheel rim hitting the enclosure internally.
