H.Z. Logistics, a fleet customer of Continental has equipped its last 2 new combination trucks with ContiPressureCheck.
H.Z. Logistics Able to Plan Ahead with ContiPressureCheck
H.Z.’s two combination trucks that are used to transport flowers and plants now have continual data for the tyre pressure thanks to ContiPressureCheck, as well as temperature checks through sensors installed within the tyres. The data is available instantly via the Astrata telematics systems, for both the driver and the home base.
Barry Zuiderwijk of H.Z. Logistics explained the company’s decision: “In our air-conditioned transport any unplanned downtime leads to major problems, especially when it comes to transporting perishable products. Even though we pursue a rigorous tyre policy with regular checks, unplanned downtime is often unavoidable.”
Now with ContiPressureCheck installed, Zuiderwijk notes the difference: “With continuous and real-time insight into both the tyre pressure and temperature, we are immediately aware of any deviations, so we can anticipate and keep downtime to a minimum. Correct tyre pressure also provides fuel savings, as well as environmental benefits, as continually correct tyre pressure ensures less rolling resistance, ensuring lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.”
