Hankook will provide the SmartTouring AL22 and the SmartCity AU04+ tyres to Ferrovie del Sud-Est, an Apulian transportation company which is also a part of the Italian National Railway Company.
Hankook Providing Ferrovie del Sud-Est with Bus Fitments
The bus tyres are going to fulfil the needs of the entire vehicle fleet including 360 buses and coaches for public transport. Hankook will supply the bus tyres in cooperation with Fintyre, one of the top Italian distributors of replacement tyres and part of the pan-European Fintyre Group platform.
“We are pleased about the new cooperation with Ferrovie del Sud-Est and providing our bus tyres together with Fintyre’s excellent fleet services”, says Carlo Citarella, Managing Director of Hankook Tire Italia. He further states: “This is an opportunity to show the quality of our products together with Fintyre in a channel where we have not yet been very present in Italy. Our partnerships with fleet companies represent a strategic aim for our truck tyre market share growth in Italy”.
Hankook’s SmartTouring AL22 can be used on all axle positions and provides high levels of ride and rolling comfort, good concentricity, low rolling noise and optimised rolling resistance, fuel efficiency and low wear.
The AU04+ is the tyre for urban applications that provides driving safety and good mileage which can also be used on all axles. In the stop-and-go driving of city traffic, bus tyres must be able to withstand a heavy load and guarantee safe and efficient use at the same time.
The innovative tread compound and new tyre structure guarantee safety and make efficient and eco-friendly use in city traffic a reality. The tyre is designed for use on electric buses, as well as traditionally powered vehicles. The reinforced sidewall of the tyre protects from excessive wear as a result of frequent curb contact. Both the SmartTouring AL22 and the SmartCity AU04+ are all-season tyres and have the 3PMSF symbol (3 Peak Mountain Snowflake).
“We are proud to partner a prestigious public utility like Ferrovie del Sud-Est, part of the Italian National Railway Company together with Hankook”, affirmed Francesco Carantani, Fintyre CEO. “The project we are about to start with the Italian National Railway Company is a further demonstration of our distinctive positioning in the industry.”
